Year 6 visits Microsoft
Headquarters Tech Hub
The visit to Microsoft Headquarter’s Tech Hub by 40 of our Year 6 students was a resounding success on 1st June! Our students had a tour of the facility and learnt about artificial intelligence (AI) from Beth, an expert in the field, what that looks like now and in the future.
They were highly engaged throughout the visit and demonstrated a deep understanding of AI concepts by asking intelligent and thought-provoking questions.
The visit was a valuable learning experience for the students, providing them with a unique opportunity to gain insight into the potential applications and implications of AI. Being able to visit a world-renowned tech hub and learn from experts in the field is a special privilege for these students, inspiring them to explore further in this area.
Good news! Moving forward, Microsoft has agreed to make this an annual event in June for our Year 6 students.
Year 9 designed App to
control Robotic Cars
In Dr. Babacar's Year 9 Computer Science lesson, students designed an App to control Robotic Cars. They even created and built the Robotic Cars by themselves!
Alicia and Jayda (above) are the first 2 students who are ready to do a test run in the foyer.
And it works! Well done!
Take a peak at our
Year 3 Robotics lesson!
Our amazing Year 3 students successfully did a Draw activity using Robots for the first time!
In Mr. Wanjara's Computing lesson, they used Sphero Edu Draw Canvas to draw shapes that represented code, then created and executed their block-based programmes to draw shapes using the Sphero Bolt Robots.
The lesson proved to be an excellent introduction to Sphero Edu. Everyone had fun and actively engaged in the learning experience!
