The Kangxi Dynasty was an important period in the history of Chinese artillery, with breakthroughs in artillery knowledge and military applications. Emperor Kangxi attached great importance to artillery. After the rebellion of the San Francisco in the 12th year of Kangxi, the Qing army, with the assistance of the Jesuit Nan Huairen, cast artillery and was able to quell the rebellion.
