众所周知,要想学好英语,词汇起着重要的作用.如果把语言比作大厦,语法就是建构大厦的结构设计图纸,词汇则是建筑材料.设计的再好,没有砖瓦材料,根本建不起大厦,没有词汇,语法学的再好,也学不好英语的听说读写。

不过,不能让学生孤零零地记忆单词,应该让他们把语法规则、词汇和语音语调整体记忆,音、意、形、用整体记忆。只记住单词的意思远远不够,还要知道这个单词的用法和合适的语境,因此通过文章的记忆比单纯的词汇表记忆有效得多。给学生们精选一些适合的文章显得尤为重要。

小学篇

以“My Holiday”为题，介绍你的五一假期是怎样度过的。

My Holiday

It was a long holiday. I have a lot of fun every day. I visited my grandparents with my mom in Guangzhou. We went there by bus. On the first day, we watched TV at home. On the second day, we went to the zoo to see elephants and took many pictures. On the third day, we went to a park, we rowed a boat. On the fourth day, I did my homework and bought presents for my friends. For the last day of the holiday, we came back home. It was a happy holiday.

我的假期

那是一个长假，我每天都过得很开心。我和我的妈妈去看望了广州的外祖父母，我们坐公共汽车去那里。第一天，我们在家里看电视。第二天，我们去了动物园看大象，还照了许多相片。第三天，我们去了公园，我们划了船。第四天，我做了我的家庭作业，还给我的朋友们买了礼物。假期的最后一天，我们回家了。这是一个开心的假期。

初中篇

假设Linda是你的好朋友，你们两年没有见面了。上个星期她从国外留学回来，你们很高兴见到彼此。请根据提示，简要介绍Linda的变化。

提示：

1.外貌：以前个子矮，短发；现在个子高多了，长发。

2.爱好：以前喜欢打乒乓球、看电视和聊天；现在喜欢弹钢琴、看书和散步。

Linda is my best friend. She has changed o lot in the past two years.

I think people sure change as time goes by. Even though she has changed a lot, we will be the best friends all the time.

A Journey across Canada

横穿加拿大的旅行

After a quiz last autumn, Kuang crossed the continent eastward to Toronto to visit his schoolmate, the distance measuring

Great Fall. After a nice buffet at noon, he was pleased to find that the scenery was impressive. He saw beautiful harbours in the distance, wealthy urban areas and maple forest that covered thousands of acres. He even managed to catch sight of an eagle flying upward over bushes.

Kuang reached Toronto which lies slightly

near the border at a misty dawn. There was frost and the broad downtown streets were very quiet. Though it was early,

Kuang phoned his schoolmate in a booth

nearby at once rather than waiting for him to come. They had a good time together.
