By promoting eco-environmental protection, relocating the impoverished population from inhospitable areas to places with better economic prospects, and returning farmland back to forest, poor areas have seen significant improvements in the environment and good results achieved in poverty alleviation through environmental protection.

Now that food and clothing are secured for the poor, we should plan for the future and aim for sustainable development of agriculture, and we must not be shortsighted in pursuit of quick successes and instant benefits.

3年后如期打赢脱贫攻坚战，中华民族千百年来存在的绝对贫困问题，将在我们这一代人的手里历史性地得到解决。这是我们人生之大幸。

In three years’ time, when we have defeated poverty in this generation, we will have brought to an end, once and for all, the extreme poverty that has shackled the Chinese nation for millennia. This will be a source of great pride.

要关心爱护基层一线扶贫干部，让有为者有位、吃苦者吃香、流汗流血牺牲者流芳，激励他们为打好脱贫攻坚战努力工作。

We should take better care of grassroots officials fighting poverty and encourage them to work harder during the toughest stage towards final success, by making sure that the capable are in the right positions, the hard-working are duly rewarded, and those who sacrifice themselves for the cause are remembered by all.
