GWM scores 25.47% YoY jump in Jan. 2023 overseas sales

Shanghai (Gasgoo)- Affected by the New Year's Day and Chinese Spring Festival holidays, Great Wall Motor (“GWM”) sold 61,519 vehicles in Jan. 2023, representing a year-on-year plunge of 44.96%, the automaker announced on Tuesday.

Despite the overall downturn, GWM still saw its overseas markets’ sales jump 25.47% year on year to 15,998 units last month.
All brands of GWM faced a two-digit year-on-year decline in Jan. sales. Of them, both WEY and ORA saw their monthly sales plunge at a rate of over 70%.
Haval still ranked highest among brands with a Jan. sales volume of nearly 40,000 vehicles.

On January 6th, the first new energy vehicle (NEV) model of the year from the HAVAL brand, the HAVAL H-DOG, made its debut at the Haikou New Energy Vehicle Exhibition. GWM announced today the new model is officially named HAVAL second-generation Big Dog (“Er dai Da Gou” in Chinese Pinyin).
Great Wall Pick-up faced the least year-on-year dip in Jan. sales, which came in at 11,680 units. Of the vehicles sold last month by the brand, 3,892 units were sold outside of China, indicating a 9% year-on-year growth.
GWM’s NEV products entered the Middle East market with the Good Cat model hitting the Jordanian market on Jan. 29. Prior to this, on January 10, the automaker's first accessory center in the Middle East was launched in the United Arab Emirates, which will help GWM upgrade its overseas services and form a 1+N component supporting system.
