NIO reduces prices across entire product lineup

Shanghai (Gasgoo)- On June 12, Chinese electric vehicle (EV) manufacturer, NIO, announced a price adjustment for its entire range of new cars, as well as a modification to the benefits package for first-time car owners. 

The starting price for all models has been reduced by 30,000 yuan. After the price reduction, the current prices by specific models are shown as follows:

The benefits for new car owners have been adjusted to include: a six-year or 150,000-kilometer warranty for the whole car, with the power battery, electric motor, and electric control units covered for ten years with unlimited mileage; six years of free internet access; and lifetime free roadside assistance. From June 12 onwards, free battery swapping will no longer be a basic benefit. Instead, users can opt for a pay-per-swap approach, and NIO will be rolling out flexible charging packages.

For existing owners, the benefits for first-time car owners remain unchanged. When purchasing a new NIO vehicle, customers can choose to transfer the original car's benefits to the new car, or forego these benefits to receive a discount of 30,000 yuan to 50,000 yuan on their new car purchase.

Explaining the reason behind this adjustment, NIO stated that since the first delivery of the ES8 Founders Edition in 2018, NIO's customer benefits have consistently delivered high value, from a range of car services to battery charging and swapping. As the user scenarios continue to diversify, NIO needs to maintain its service advantages while allowing more customers to experience NIO's products and services in a more flexible way, satisfying diverse buying and usage needs.
