Artist Statement
Knowing that she was about to die, my aunt said that she would have less regret about leaving this world if she knew that she would still be able to send letters.(當我的姑姑知道自己大限將至,曾說如果離開後還能往人世寄信,就不會如此遺憾。)
I feel that my camera acts as an antenna –to receive signals carrying urgent messages from the lost lives and objects that fill the air around us. I believe that it is this frantic whispering of death that pushes me to take photographs, and enables me to continue living.(我覺得我的相機就像天線般工作著——它接收來自逝去的生命和物體們的所要傳達的訊息,它們淒切地充斥在我們周身的空氣中。我確信正是這些來自死亡的狂亂低語推著我不斷拍攝,並使我活下去。)
