Africa Week Launches on the 17th of May
Between 18th – 26th May 2018, Kente & Silk and partners hosted a first of its kind celebration of Africa in China: The K&S Beijing Africa Week. During this ground-breaking week, we engaged over 650 people over 7 events. These events ranged from creative events, such as “A Night of African Storytelling” that featured call & response singing, theatrical performances and spoken word to discursive events such as the China Africa Stories forum, which focused on how young people can shape the Africa-China relationship. It all culminated in the K&S Start-Up Pitch Competition where Nani Creations was selected among 5 competitive semi-finalists and awarded the profits raised from the week.
2018年5月18至26日，肯带丝及其合作伙伴将在华举办一系列前所未有的非洲庆典：肯带丝北京非洲周活动。在这一开拓性的活动周里，共有650人参与我们的七项活动。丰富多彩的活动囊括万千，如以问答、歌唱、戏剧表演和发散性讨论为特色的“非洲故事之夜”等创意活动。“非洲故事之夜”聚焦年轻人在塑造中非关系中的能动性。非洲周活动最后在肯带丝非洲初创大赛中达到高潮。Nani's Creations在五位极具竞争力的半决赛选手中脱颖而出，获得了从非洲周活动中募集而来的大奖。
This year, Kente & Silk is bringing Africa Week back with a set of new and exciting events. Our aim remains the same: to increase positive engagement with Africa in China.
