面试一张口就被嫌弃了!?这说话之道,你还不来学学
春招的尾巴摇一摇就马上就要结束了,经历了一波波恶战的面试是不是感觉自己已然经验丰富了。然而即使面试感觉自己英文说的不错,问题回答的挺流畅,也把自己过去的相关经验详尽阐述了一次。本以为兴高采烈等着后续面试以及来自HR的congratulations,结果HR邮件一直不来,邮箱毫无波澜。
到底哪里出了问题?
几乎每次面试的时候面试官都会问一个问题—“给我说说你在XX公司做的XX实习具体做了些什么?”这是你心里可能会冒出无数个声音,最终归结成一个词“打杂”。然后你可能还会困惑,到底应该说些什么。
在很多mock interview的过程中,扫地僧经常能听到很多同学使用“helped”这个词来叙述自己在团队中所做的事情,但是这个词其实是一个非常模糊不推荐使用的词。对于面试官来说,“helped”也许意味着你在项目中提出了一些有力的观点帮助项目推进;但也有可能暗示着你在团队中是一个沉默的participant,只是辅助性地存在。
其实面试官们也非常清楚,一般的实习甚至是entry-level的工作都是十分基础的工作。大概大部分的行业都是接接电话、改改报告、做做PPT、查查资料,最后喝口茶冷静一下坐等下班。
然而面试的时候该如何包装自己的实习经验,用最简单的语言快速说出面试官想要的答案。扫地僧今天为小伙伴们准备的这套攻略,记得好好学习。
在面试官不知道你任何情况,只有你的简历和听了你30秒到一分钟的自我简介之后,会如何了解你更多呢。这时候我们总能听到这样类似的问题:
“你在上一份实习中主要做了什么?”
“这段经历你在团队中是什么角色?“
“你觉得你在XX中最大的贡献“
……..
其实这么多问题在应聘者这里都应该归结为一个问题---如何在描述打杂一般的工作中突出自己的能力与特质。
在面试中,你需要展示出来的是你在一个任务中,不仅仅是简单的完成它,而是你高标准、高质量、有过程地完成了一件事情。不要过度在乎这个任务的难易或内容,因为假如面试者说他在实习中领到了一个很重要的projects,面试官也不会相信的。
那么我们该如何使用什么语言来描述自己的职责?
想想小编上面说的“helped”的例子,其实我们应该使用更多展现自己主观能动性的词语,不仅仅是阐述自己在这个项目中的工作,更是展现主动推进工作进程的过程。
例子:accomplish, coordinate, determine, maintain, manage, grow, improve……
每个公司都有自己的工作氛围,虽然每个行业的几大公司看起来都是一样苦逼,一样是利润为导向,但是它们各自却又有自己的企业特色。在能力相当的几个候选人中,往往在面试中展现出的个人特质更符合公司文化的人能获得最终胜利。
面试中该怎么寻找最适合的词语来形容自己?
先镜像公司用来展示公司价值和文化的词语,那么这些词语一般情况下都是在公司内部使用频率最高的词语了,也是强调员工价值的词语。那么你就要在面试过程中穿插一些这类词语,但是切忌不要用力过猛,会让面试官感觉你在过度讨好。
当时使用了这些词语,即使面试官不会有意识地注意到,但潜意识中已经造成了细微的变化,这就是你如何潜移默化在面试的30分钟时间内对你印象逐渐加深的过程。记得阅读公司网页的”AboutMe”以及Wikipedia上的介绍,甚至你还需要去翻阅他的socialmedia posts,从business和casual的两个角度了解这个公司。
导师团队在mock interview的时候时常会强调一点,面试官想知道你会不会对这份工作有兴趣和热情,还是说你只是机械性地完成工作。有激情和对工作充满兴趣的员工能够让公司积极地发展,同时,这也能够让面试官感受到你的工作士气与职业道德。
例子:energized, enthusiastic, motivated, love, priority, win, success……
每一个产业都有它自己的buzzwords(时髦用语)以及jargon(专业术语/行话),使用这些词语可能会使你听起来对行业非常熟练,然而过度堆砌词语也许会让面试官认为你只是一知半解。
面对HR的面试时,尽量使用common-sense的词语,展现更general的想法,适当地表现出你对行业的简介即可点到为止,避免使用buzzwords和jargon。更多地表现你的性格特点,会事半功倍。
面对专业技能较强的面试官时,在描述自己之前经历的时候,适当展现自己对行业insights的认知,与面试官形成一种像秘密暗语的感觉,有拉近关系的一种私密感。但注意,使用专业术语的时候必须懂得它的意思、应用以及相关的知识,免得当面试官想与你深入交谈的时候,你露出马脚,弄巧成拙。
你不是在考SAT或是GRE,并不需要死记硬背这些词语。相反的,你更需要的是
