Come check out Midtown Brewery for one of their many craft beers (58RMB). Midtown is focusing on indoctrinating their philosophy upon anyone who likes a pint of beer. One of Midtown’s new goals is to bring pint lovers in Hangzhou an authentic craft beer experience.

The brewing staff at Midtown is top notch, lead by their brew master Eric, who is an industry guru. He is no novice in the beer business. He has been brewing for many years now, and also has had great success in Shanghai before bringing his talents to Hangzhou. When he explains all the difference characteristics of beer, it is as if you are in science class. You can feel his passion and charisma whenever he talks about his trade, and because of that, he's changed many people’s perception of this magical stuff in your glass. After meeting him a few times now, I have a totally different outlook on beer. The brewing staff and scientists here are constantly conducting experiments to find the best flavours for enthusiasts to enjoy.

The facility is one of the best. Their equipment comes from a Canadian company, and there are five stations for the entire process. The design and equipment really make quality craft goodness. If you know how to make beer, then you will be extremely impressed by the equipment they use. However, if you don’t know, it is still worth checking out.

When you try the different types of beer at midtown, you will notice the difference in quality compared to other places. The masterminds at Midtown really know what they are doing. The bold flavor at midtown is great, because it is balanced for drinkability. After trying the beers, your perception will evolve and your appreciation for the mastery will grow. Now the craft brew trend is not something new, but to the local market, it's still in its developing stage, and who better to lead the pack, then somebody who's been down the trail before. 

Since its colder in Hangzhou these days, go to Midtown for their newest nitro tap beer. This is where there is no carbonation, which allows the drink to have more of a creamy filling in the mouth. The liquid texture is more condensed to make the drinkability very enjoyable.

Why do I say go to Midtown for beer, because it is cold out? Because Midtown Brewery is proud to announce their new Chocolate Nitro Stout Beer (58 RMB). This drink will warm you up during these cold days. I can’t believe I can say that it is actually only 6.9%. When you first drink this sensational seasonal beer, you won't believe that it is 6.9%. The beer comes from the stout family of beers, so it is made with roasted malt and notes of mocha. It also has rich layers of chocolate. After the beer is poured, you must let it sit for 90 seconds before taking that first desired sip, because it is nitro beer and needs to settle. It is quite pleasant to watch the beer cascade, and once the beer settles, just imagine a big marshmallow sitting on top of the black beer.  You will notice that the beer will have a velvety smooth mouthful, because the beer comes from the nitrogen infusion and is enhanced with additions of toasted oats and wheat. It will be hard to miss the added taste of espresso and a touch of chocolate finish. Don’t be afraid to have some chocolate to snack on to enhance the experience.
