College B&R really sets the bar when it comes to sports bars, and despite being possibly Hangzhou’s only sports bar, sets the bar pretty damn high. Three spacious floors in a new, beautiful building and management with years of experience in some of the best sports bars in Shanghai are a recipe that sports fans, and general fun-loving folk, are sure to enjoy.

Being primarily a sports bar, huge TVs are easily visible from anywhere you sit, from which every sporting competition you could possibly imagine (EPL, NFL, NBA, NBL, F1 to name a few), complete with English commentary, will be broadcast whenever there is one to watch. Large, full-length windows on all floors slide away to combine indoor and outdoor seating areas.

Starting from the bottom, the ground floor has foosball, and will host games and the like come party night. The second floor has live music playing most nights, while the uppermost level has a more refined feel - deep couches, whiskey and cocktails that could also act as a great setting for a private function.
As expected, the menu here is filled with the usual Western fare: Pizza, Pasta, Soups, Salads, Steaks and more all ready to be cooked by their experienced Western chef. The Ribs (70RMB, small) were good, and portioned to satisfy even the hungriest of patrons. Also, a long finger-food menu has been designed full of snacks (Potato Skins 50RMB, Buffalo Wings 55RMB) that are perfect for munching on during the game, and your favourite is sure to be present. As of writing, ordering a burger on Sundays will reward you with a free beer.

For drinks, the bar has just about everything. Carlsberg (25RMB), Stella, Punk IPA, wheat beer and Guinness on tap, bottled beers (Heineken, 30RMB), spirits and a decent single malt list. Prices are reduced from 4:00-8:00pm everyday, while Tuesdays will have cheaper prices all night. College B&R is also poised to become party central, including live sets, college-style parties with beer pong and keg stands, and themed nights all arriving in the near future. So, die-hard sports fan or not, there is no excuse not to check this place out.
