杰森图书馆从外面看就是一家小小的图书馆，但是你所不知道的是里面别有洞天。从小便在世界各地的寄宿家庭里长大的杰森对英国菜和肉有一种特别的情怀。每过一两个月，他都要推出一些新菜，当然都是他最爱的肉，我们也习惯了每个月都会有个周一在他那里把酒言欢、畅谈美食、各抒己见。餐厅开了一年了，杰森还如当初那样，认真、执着，相信每个人都能在这个月的新菜当中找到自己中意的那一款。
After a brief hiatus, this month we resume our regular visits to Jason’s Library to see what new dishes Jason has created. Jason’s Library is well-known for meat dishes like Beef Wellington and Green Pepper Steak, and the new dishes also feature meat. We had Gravy, Truffles and Beef Toast (68RMB), Herdsman’s Treat (168RMB) and Smoky BBQ Chicken (158RMB).
Gravy, Truffles and Beef Toast were delicious little bites of tender, sliced beef fillet on toast with brown gravy and truffles. They would make a great snack or appetizer for when you want some good quality beef but don’t want a whole main course.

Herdsman’s Treat is a meat lover’s delight with a triple hit of beef fillet, a hamburger patty stuffed with cheese and a thick slice of foie gras on top.

Smoky BBQ Chicken are first grilled in a tomato BBQ marinade and then served with more smoky BBQ sauce.

The cocktails at Jason’s Library have been catching our attention and they now have a considerable list to choose from. Such as, Michelada (68RMB), made with Corona beer, tomato juice, lime juice, Worcestershire sauce, tabasco and chili pepper. It tastes like a Bloody Mary, with the Corona and lime adding a refreshing, cooling finish.

While Michelada is bold and robust, the other cocktail, London Jasmine (68RMB), is soft and flowery with gin, jasmine green tea, passionfruit, peach and orange juices.

A new creation for dessert, Royal Mousse, brings a chocolate mousse and a layered fruit mousse with sponge cake. The sponge cake has been soaked in a liquor, giving a nice bitterness to balance the sweet and tart fruit flavours.

Jason’s Library is a speakeasy style restaurant and bar accessed through a secret bookshelf in a cookbook library. Once you enter the library, an attendant will open the secret bookshelf for you to slip through.
