Westlakers Oatmeal Stout 

西湖人枫糖燕麦世涛啤酒

ABV: 5.5%

Brewed by Wei Wei @ East River Taproom 

This stout was inspired by the Canadian hockey player Frank. We met again at the two year anniversary party of Xanadu, he said to me, “Why don’t you try to make a beer with maple syrup?” Then he bought me a Zombie cocktail and I began thinking about his suggestion. At the end, I decided I will create a new limited-edition, maple syrup beer and I will name it Westlakers.

Westlakers has a dark body and delicate brown foam, hold it close to your nose and you can smell the obvious maple syrup and grain aroma. It also has the smell of nuts and black coffee. Take a sip, the taste is so smooth, there is a mixed flavour of cream coffee and roasted coffee. Accompanied by moderate hops, the end is a bit dry, along with a light coffee and grain taste which stays in your mouth for a long time.

The Westlakers Oatmeal Stout will be available from December 31st, priced at 50RMB/pint. East River Taproom is also hosting a New Year party on the same night. The deal is 150RMB for all-you-can-drink beer, not only you can drink any draft beer, but you’ll also get to have a pint of this new Westlakers beer for free.
