Owning a pet brings people much joy in more ways than we can say. Yet, when it comes to going on a holiday, we are often faced with the headache of what to do with Fido or Fluffy. Finding a reliable pet-sitter is not so easy, nor is relying on friends to help out. Some couples, ahem, ok me, even resort to taking separate vacations so that at least one of us is home to take care of our fur babies.

That’s why Marriott Executive Apartments Hangzhou has made their rooms pet-friendly so that guests can bring their dogs or cats along for the stay. Marriott will make the experience as stress free as possible for pet-owners and the pets.

The apartment will be set-up with a circulating water fountain and food dish.

A comfy bed will be provided too. Cat owners are advised to bring their own litter box and cat litter.

At the reception, our cats were warmly welcomed by the staff who quickly and efficiently checked us in so that the cats didn’t have to wait around too long.

In no time at all, we were whisked off to our One-bedroom apartment and got ourselves and the cats settled in.

Then afterwards he pretty much spent the whole evening hiding under pillows, looking distinctly not amused.

His mother Betsy was more adventurous though. She had a fun time exploring the room and checking out the food and beverage station.

Marriott Executive Apartments Hangzhou (MEA) are located in the Future Sci-Tech City where the Alibaba main campus is located. The guests who stay here have come to do business with Alibaba and they often stay for extended periods. MEA aims to provide guests with a “home away from home” experience to make their stay comfortable.

Apartments are equipped with a range of cooking facilities, including stove-top, full-size oven, microwave and dishwasher.

There’s also a fridge, freezer, clothes washer and dryer and a set of cookware from WMF that would make any cook happy.

Though MEA is primarily a business hotel, the service we received surpassed many luxury 5 star hotels. The staff at the lobby never failed to smile and greet us every time we walked through and they were always available to make us a cappuccino for take-away.

At the restaurant, the manager Kevin came to introduce himself during our dinner and the next morning at breakfast he even remembered our names. The food also made a good impression with an a la carte menu at night and a buffet breakfast that was not large but had all the things you would want to eat, whether Chinese or western, including a fruit and vegetable station where you can choose your own blend and the juice would be freshly made for you.
