WHAT'S NEW 城中事

Wow, Hangzhou's 60 participating bars have been gin-teel hosts to 40 gins, 20 visiting bartenders and hundreds of participating guests. 

This week still features an exciting calendar of citywide events and activities including, the ever popular photo competition with amazing prizes of gin tonic sets, given away each day.

Excitingly there are still three grand prizes to be won. Scan the QR code below to join the Wechat group to submit your gin tonic photos with a bottle of 'the gin' and Tall Brothers Tonic Water.

I have had great pleasure inviting Hangzhou bars to participate with Magnus Akesson from Tall Brothers to create the Gin Journey, or baby step towards Whiskey Week, Cocktail Street & Rum Days to come in the coming year.

Gin Journey Photo Competition

Please note the rules have changed slightly.

1. Take a picture of ANY gin tonic at a participating bar. Get creative. Involve yourself, friends or bar staff in fun poses WITH the drink, gin and Tall Brothers tonic water. 

在酒吧中拍摄一张金汤力的照片，图中需包含金酒和汤力水。画面可以有你自己、朋友们或者酒吧的侍者，摆个可爱的造型，和你的金酒、长脚兄弟的汤力水来张合影吧！

2. Join a Gin Journey WeChat group.  

通过扫描打卡地图或台卡上的二维码加入文章中的微信群聊。

3. Put the photo in the Wechat group with the bars name.

根据“每日金酒”在微信群里发送图片，并且发送酒吧名称或是定位。

Prize 奖品

Everyday there's at least two prize sets that include a bottle of gin with 6 bottles of tonic water. (Winners are announced the following day.) Scan the QR Code for the venue map.

Tall Brothers Tonic Water

Brothers Magnus and Henrik, carry on the legacy of three generations of Swedish beverage makers with their Shanghai-based boutique Tall Brothers. With traction in China’s big cities, it’s great to see Hangzhou follow suit by offering Tall Brother’s Tonic Water too. You’ll be able to catch up with Magnus at bars across Hangzhou throughout the Gin Journey, join a Wechat group to catch up with him.

Hope Bar

Hope is for discerning guests that might prefer conversation, polite service and being remembered like an old friend. West Lake Station evokes imagery of a rail car on The Orient Express and their specialty cocktails are steam themed. The Chengxi store has recently been renovated and just reopened right now. As well as having very Instagram-able presentation, they use a lot of cocktail lab wizardry to produce their syrups and infusions. Both bars are great for a date night or when you feel like being treated.

WADE'S Bar & Grill is an American Western food bar for foreigners in Hangzhou. It's mainly offering American classics in New York and Boston. Wade's is CNN Recommended Restaurant & Bar! They've been rated three times the best restaurant by the public comment must-eat list, and four times Ctrip Gourment List in Hangzhou. The Antique Door 扉酒吧

The Antique Door located at 1F of Grand Hyatt Hangzhou is an indulgent, Art Deco-inspired drinking venue with two contrasting areas. On entering, guests discover a glamorous front bar in a pale palette of cream and grey beneath an eye-catching gold antiqued-glass ceiling. Dominating the space is a spectacular, 1.2-meter wide pendant light in the shape of an upturned tree. Floor-to-ceiling linen-damask curtains reveal a moody, hidden antechamber cocooned in a navy wall and ceiling mural and furnished with red leather tub chairs and plush banquettes. The drinks menu is focused on Champagne, sake, whisky and high-quality cocktails and entertainment is provided by live DJ.

The College 咖叻吉

College Bar is a sports bar done right, with a good selection of draft beers, a good, American-style menu, and huge TVs in every corner. Live music, a whiskey lounge, plus parties galore means that there really is something for everyone.

Show Lounge isn’t an ordinary cocktail lounge, whiskey bar, what they trying to bring or show to their guests is they are not only serve drinks, but also provide tales and joy of drinking, they care about inside the drink, flavor, balance, and most importantly a fun time experience.

一年前我们会说，秀lounge是一个我们不说你不知道的酒吧。一年后，我们想说这里混迹了好多威士忌老炮们，每隔一段时间不来一趟秀lounge，就觉得无精打采，生活了无生趣！这大概就是秀Lounge的魅力吧，爱上这里的张狂，爱上这里的温柔，反正如喝一口自己喜欢的威士忌一般，油然而生的一种亲切感。还有老客人爱这里，因为鸡尾酒，有人会点上二十杯Ramos Gin Fizz，并与调酒师相视而笑；也有人叫嚣着“三套车”，三杯烈性鸡尾酒，互帮互忙喝完，七冲八歪。这里的夜晚，似曾相识。

Mixology Lab 调酒学家

Mixology Lab sits quietly by West Lake, this two-story transparent glass building is a bar with the combination of craft cocktail, creation, black technology and experiment. The bartender on the first floor is Lin Qingying who is the 2nd place winner of the best cocktail of Bacardi. On the second floor, cocktail research is carried out in the style of laboratory, which is produced by Chen Xi, a young bartender. Here, craft cocktail (the fifth generation of handmade cocktails) is mainly created. High-quality spirits, fresh fruits, selected ice, appropriate accessories and exquisite decoration that bring the cocktails to another level. Through the separation and distillation of black technology, they extract fresh taste from a variety of ingredients, blend into cocktails, and give the mixologist more creativity and space.

Mixology Lab就静静靠于柳浪闻莺身旁，整座两层楼的透明玻璃小楼是一个手工+创作+风味+黑科技与传统碰撞的超现实主义实验风融合的酒吧。一楼的bartender是今年百加得传世鸡尾酒亚军林清英。二楼以实验室风格进行鸡尾酒研究，由年轻的调酒师陈夕负责出品，这里主要创作Craft Cocktail (第五代手工鸡尾酒)。优质的烈酒，新鲜的水果，精选冰块，合适的辅料，精致的装饰，将出品提升到另一个level。通过分离蒸馏等黑科技与手工制作，从各种丰富多样的食材中提取新鲜味道，融入鸡尾酒中，赋予调酒师有更多创造力和空间。
