Binjiang

Around 6:00 this morning, the highest water level of Qiantang River (Binjiang section) was 7.43 meters, lower than the highest water level at 5:00 yesterday morning.

By 7 o'clock this morning, the water level had dropped to 7.33 meters, 7.8 meters below the guaranteed level.

The most unusual sight along the Xin’an River is the wondrous mist that lingers over Baisha Town due to the river’s temperature, which stays at a steady 14 to 17 degrees Celsius. In the mornings and evenings, the surface of the river is cold, which creates a large temperature difference between the water and the air. This causes the formation of the white mist that distinguishes the landscape. With the discharged flood, the mist has come along with the flood. Many netizens photographed the Qiantang River as "fairyland" this morning!

Xiaoshan

According to the Xiaoshan Daily, at 7:26am today, the detection water level of Xiaoshan was at the blue safety level.

At 4am today, the nine spillways flood peak of Xin'an River first arrived at Fuchun River Hydropower Station for storage and discharged to Wenyan section of Qiantang River at the speed of 14,500 cubic meters per second. At present, the discharge of Fuchun River Hydropower Station is 13,400 cubic meters per second, and the impact on Xiaoshan is slowed down.

CBD

According to the Emergency Management Bureau of CBD at 8am on July 9, the water level at Sigezha Station of Qiantang River was 6.4 meters, and the highest water level appeared at 6:00am, which was 7.09 meters. At present, the water level shows a downward trend.

Jianggan

According to Jianggan District Emergency Management Bureau, as of 7am on July 9, the water level at Qibao Station of Qiantang River was 6.5 meters, the highest water level was 6.96 meters at 5:30am, and the warning water level was 6.7 meters.

At present, the water level shows a downward trend, the river water level in the main river area is below the warning line, and there is no water accumulation in the urban area.

At present, the main heavy rainfall is in Lishui and Wenzhou area, slightly weakened and slowly moved eastward and southward. It is expected that Chun'an County today will be cloudy to overcast in the daytime, and sometimes there will be thunderstorms or short-term heavy rain in the afternoon.

Q: Nine spillways flood discharge, can the dam stand this test?

A: At present, the dam safety is no problem. There are more than 100 meters of roads have been submerged at the entrance of Xin'anjiang Middle School and 320 National Highway. The water depth is 1.5 meters. Several bridges along the river have been greatly impacted and have been closed. Some embankments have collapsed and houses have been flooded, the flood has reached to the third floor.

Q: Up to now, the water level has dropped about 10cm. Many people are wondering why is it so slow?

A: It mainly depends on the water inflow from the upstream. The inflow of water from the beginning was more than 8000 cubic meters/second, and now is more than 5000 cubic meters/second, it is a slow decline process.

Q: When will the flood discharge stop, or adjust from 9 spillways to 7 spillways?

A: The normal operation process of the reservoir is from 9 spillways to 7 spillways, and then to all closed. When to adjust to 7 spillways flood discharge will be decided by the provincial government after consultation with the dispatching expert group.

Q: It has been 50 hours since the flood discharge. How much is the total amount of flood discharge?

A: From 10am on July 7 to 8am today, the total discharged flood reached 1.108 billion cubic meters, of which 904 million cubic meters were discharged by the gate, it equals about 76 West Lakes.
