Last Friday we attended the relaunch of MORPH, Hangzhou's first boutique night club, on the 14th floor of Kempinski (66 Lishui Road). Personable service, loads of space, live music and awesome DJs created a fantastic atmosphere with tons of memorable moments.

Developed by renowned designer Ashley Sutton, his boundless creativity and imagination, has developed many exciting bar concepts around the world.

The inspiration for MORPH comes from Hangzhou's Romeo & Juliet love story Liang Zhu, the butterfly lovers. With thousands of hand made butterflies and a ceiling featuring more than 900 hand-stitched cocoons, MORPH is an otherworldly playground.

The resident band, UNIQ All Stars and China's top DJs Fat K and Rain, perform sets of funk, old school, classic rock, and top of the pops. MORPH's new sound system makes their entertainment more engaging than ever.

If you're looking for areas at MORPH that are slightly quieter, the wall-side windows of the grand canal are great for conversation as is the outdoor terrace.

I loved every cocktail that I tried and was super impressed by the wine and spirits list.

Chris Peart (Assistant Director of Food and Beverage) has been instrumental in the relaunch, and with his newly appointed head bartender, Tale, they've developed a super new menu and assembled a stellar team.
