个人简介

Dr. Shaffique Adam was born in Nairobi, Kenya. After completing his A-levels in Kenya, he went to Stanford University where he received his BS, majoring in Physics with a minor in Mathematics. He graduated with departmental honours and a University distinction. After spending four months as an exchange student at Magdalen College in Oxford University, he went on to pursue his doctorate in Theoretical Physics at Cornell University, where he worked on the magnetic properties of nanoscale conductors. He then moved to the Condensed Matter Theory Center at the University of Maryland where he worked on the electronic transport properties of graphene. Before joining Yale-NUS College, he spent three years as a National Research Council Fellow in the Center for Nanoscale Science and Technology at the US National Institute of Standards and Technology. 

会议简介

中国-新加坡物理学前沿研讨会是由新加坡国立大学和中国内地的著名大学联合举办的系列高水平国际学术会议，至今在新加坡国立大学、中国科技大学、浙江大学、厦门大学等地举行了14次。第十五届会议由中山大学物理学院和新加坡国立大学物理系共同举办，于2019年11月20日-23日在中国广州召开。会议的主要目的是加强中-新两国在物理领域的交流，促进两国在研究生教育方面的合作。会议的主题围绕当前物理学的前沿，主要介绍中国和新加坡物理学家在凝聚态物理、计算物理学、纳米光子学、量子信息和量子计算、粒子物理、生物物理学等方面的最新成果。会议的目的是为中外学者提供一个交流学术的平台，促进双边的合作交流。
