报告摘要

Phosphorus, one of the most abundant elements in the earth (~0.1%), has attracted broad interest in the last five years since the rediscovery of two-dimensional (2D) black phosphorus (BP) in 2014. The successful scaling down of BP endows this ‘old material’ new vitality, resulting from the intriguing semiconducting properties in the atomic scale limit. This talk will summarize and discuss our recent work for interface engineering approaches for 2D phosphorene. We will emphasize on the oxidation mechanism of black phosphorous and epitaxial growth of 2D phosphorene films.

报告人简介


Professor CHEN Wei is currently a full professor in both the Chemistry Department and Physics Department at the National University of Singapore (NUS). His current research interests include molecular-scale interface engineering for organic, graphene and 2D materials based electronics and optoelectronics, and interface-controlled nanocatalysis for energy and environmental research. Prof Chen is a receipt of 2008 IPS Omicron Nanotechnology Award, 2012 Singapore Young Scientist Award, 2016 NUS Dean’s Chair Professorship, 2020 Mitsui Chemicals-SNIC Industry Award, selected as 2018 & 2019 Highly Cited Researchers from Clarivate Analytics.
