Timor-Leste is also known as East Timor, is a country in Southeast Asia. The country became an independent nation in 2002, after a four hundred years of Portuguese colonization, twenty-four years of Indonesian occupation, and three years of UN transitional administration. It borders Indonesia to the West and the Savu Sea to the north. The capital city of Timor-Leste is Dili and its official languages are Portuguese and Tetun.

东帝汶是东南亚国家，在经历了四百年的葡萄牙殖民统治、二十四年的印度尼西亚占领和三年的联合国过渡行政管理之后，该国于2002年成为一个独立国家。它西与印度尼西亚接壤，北接萨武海。东帝汶首都是帝力，其官方语言是葡萄牙语和德顿语。

National Flag 国旗

The national flag of Timor-Leste has a red background with two triangles on the left side, yellow and black one, the black triangle features a white five-pointed star. Red stands for blood shed during the revolution, black color represents the colonial past, the yellow triangle symbolizes hope for a better tomorrow, and the white star symbolizes peace and freedom.

东帝汶国旗的背景是红色，左边有两个三角形，分别是黄色和黑色；黑色三角形上有一个白色的五角星。红色代表革命时期所流的鲜血，黑色代表殖民地的过去，黄色三角形象征着对美好明天的希望，白色星星象征着和平与自由。

The national anthem of Timor-Leste is Pátria.

Currency 货币

The currency used in Timor-Leste is the United States Dollar (US$).

Dili 帝力

Dili is the capital of Timor-Leste. It is the chief port and commercial center for Timor-Leste. The city is also known as the “City of Peace.”

帝力是东帝汶的首都。它是东帝汶的主要港口和商业中心。这座城市也被称为“和平之城”。

Pante Macassar 潘特马卡萨

Pante Macassar is also known as Pante Makasar. It is a city on the north coast of East Timor, 281 km to the west of Dili, the nation's capital. It is the capital of the Oecussi-Ambeno exclave.

潘特马卡萨是东帝汶北部海岸的一座城市，位于该国首都帝力以西281公里。它是欧库西-安贝诺的飞地首都。

Atauro Island 阿陶罗岛

30 Kilometers from the beaches of Dili is Atauro which is only accessible via boat ride. Here, you will find world-class diving, walking paths and get a chance to look at the dolphins and goats. The peace and calmness on the beaches here are unmatched to any other place.

Baucau 包考

The city is like two separate cities. In the old town, you will discover Portuguese colonial architecture while in the new town, you will find new buildings with Indonesian influence. You will be surprised in this city on every step.

Matebian

This is the most sacred place of Timor-Leste, with thousands of pilgrims making their way to the base every All Souls Day. It is topped by the statue of Jesus Christ. If you are into hiking then this is best place to visit.

Jaco Island 雅科岛

This is an oasis of white sand and an active marine life of reef sharks, sea turtles, dolphins and technicolor fish. The transportation is provided by the local fisherman and will also host you with fresh fish meals. People here are very hospitable. It is largely uninhabited but have guesthouses and camping area.
