About Camp
9, our Beijing camp is now going on its 4th year in operation! Located on the Reignwood Country Club property in Changping District roughly 60km from Capital Airport, this location is simply the best option in Beijing for comfortable camping with rustic elements!
Our property boasts sports pitches, a massive indoor gym with a climbing wall, a laser tag course, horse riding fields, golf ranges, an indoor swimming pool and much more.
The community is truly what makes camp, and we assure you our community of staff and campers is the place for your child to feel comfortable and grow.
Our Program
Teen camp is the place for older campers to thrive. While offering teens both structure and a set of boundaries, we respect students at this age requiring enough freedom and flexibility to explore their new interests and the people around them.
We believe that teenagers at this stage are looking for summer experiences that will challenge them, provide them with a sense of ownership, and an opportunity to make incredible connections. Each experience at Teen Camp is designed to help develop leadership, growth and great memories, all while working towards a shared goal. With this goal in mind, we have elevated each aspect of our program. Did we mention camp is also, fun?
For morning activities we have selected some of our Camp favourites but with elevated content; for example, teens can work on the more difficult sides of the climbing tower, or make more complicated recipes in culinary class. Not only do they have more challenging versions of activities, but they also have teen camp exclusive activities to give them a stronger sense of independence.
Our Teen camp electives are brand-new PBL based programs designed to help your teens excel in a variety of avenues including Arts, Leadership, Teaching, Sports, and Fitness.
Our teen camp evening activities are designed to give them a sense of freedom while safely allowing them to foster strong interpersonal relationships with their peers. Fun times at games night or evening free choice activities to avoid being bogged down with the younger campers. Every aspect of our unique program is to enhance the camp experience by giving our teens the safe space and freedom to make their own choices. Teens also have the choice (voted as a cabin unit) to attend an overnight camp out on site.
Finally, the Big Trip! Adopting a practice from traditional camps across the world, the Big Trip is a privileged activity only attended by older members of camp. In this case, our Greenwoods Teens! A whole day off site and away from camp building memories and experiencing something only fellow teens can. A rite of passage.
7 Days 6 Nights!
DAY 1
After arriving at camp and getting to know their bunkmates and counselors (Icebreakers included, Greenwood's style!), campers will be introduced to the GW camp spirit.
Here they will learn about what’s in store during the week, as well as camp rules and special events.
Campers during this time also pick their Electives* for the week. Electives are 5 distinct PBL programs. Leadership - Leader-in-Training Program, Creative Writing - Camp Newsletter, Sport - Health & Fitness, Outdoor Adventure - Advanced Scouting, and The Arts - Fashion Design & Visual Arts
The first night will be filled with excitement as teen camp will hold its own more age-appropriate campfire.
Electives
*Electives are a fixed activity students will build on throughout the week, working towards a project to showcase on the last day of camp. Each project in teen camp will have either an impressive physical product or documentation to show their progress. In each class, they will have something to be proud of they can showcase not only at the end of camp but for years to come.
Leader-in-Training (LIT) - Leadership Program*
This program is intended to prepare youngsters for the potential challenge of one day becoming a counselor themselves. Our unique LIT program fits teens that have an interest in teaching, learning, and the desire to inspire. LITs will undergo staff training principles, with the intention to execute and facilitate program parts alongside adult counselors. LITs will be tasked with various challenges, embodying the spirit of camp, and become a cohesive unit overall. LITs will shadow program areas, and also facilitate some activities themselves to a group of younger campers. Role modelling the skills they will learn are invaluable practical experiences. Throughout the week they will keep a detailed journal of their progress and be ready to present their findings on the final day.
* Only 14 years and up may join our LIT Program
Journalism - Camp Newsletter/ Media
Content creation in this day and age is the basis for any social media success. Teens who join this program will learn the ins and outs of copy and editing and creating their very camp newsletter. We believe in a free voice so our campers will create the topic of the week and be guided on how to conduct interviews with both campers and staff to get a rich understanding of the story that is a week at camp. Teens can also team up with our photography and media team to create a vlog or podcast based on their experiences and all those at camp that week.
The Arts – Fashion Design & Visual Arts
Finding one's own form of creative expression is paramount to finding one's voice. Our teens will be given expert instruction and the freedom to improve their artistic talent in a project of their own choice. Our team of artist have 20 years of experience working in pastels, oil paints, sketching, and even digital arts. Teens will have no trouble finding a medium that will allow them to create something truly unique. Our instructors are here to guide our teens as they master new techniques to elevate their artwork. This program is also open to anyone who wants to learn and has the passion to improve.
Sport - Health and Fitness
A strong mind is evident in a strong body. Our fitness counselors are well versed in nutrition, physical management, and strength training. We have something for everyone who wants to get stronger or just become more physically able. This program focuses on understanding body mechanics and all the processes that make it work. Our teens will be able to choose from varying daily workouts to intense sports activities accompanied by documenting their stats. They will utilize the scientific method to make hypotheses and determine what are the best options for them to maximize their physical output.
Outdoor Adventure – Advanced Scout Skills
This elective is reserved for the curious types that like to get their hands dirty. Our head of adventure will work with students on a number of fun and exciting outdoor-based projects ranging from building catapults, solving raft building problems, orienteering and other key skills. Campouts are a must for this group of young people, thus supervised fire building is definitely on the cards.
DAY 2
After getting settled in overnight, teens are up and off for their first jam-packed day of activities. After our morning flag raising and announcements, teens go on to pick their 'flexes' (aka individual choice activities) for the evening portion.
Teen flex is run separately from younger camp. Flex periods are chosen on days 2 & 4 from a list of available activities for that day. Our flex periods are run and inspired by our camp staff and held at nighttime - ever want to play CS in the dark? Now’s your chance! Or how about board games & libary time?
DAY 3-5
With over 30 incredible activities on offer, there’s no such thing as a boring day at Greenwoods. We offer activities for teens who love to sing, dance, paint, read, swim, climb, play sports and so much more! We even offer some unique and extraordinary activities that you may have never tried before. Not to mention some exclusive for Teens activities.
Campers will return to their bunks after lunch each day for rest hour where they can hang out with their bunkmates, catch up on summer reading, relax, or have supervised play.
There will also be a fantastic variety of evening activities such as dance parties, game nights, and much more! *Note* For the evening program, Teen camp and Lower Camp will share an all camp closing camp fire. Bed times for Teen camp are adjusted to 10 pm lights out.
DAY 6 - The Big Trip!
The Big Trip is certainly intended to be one of the distinguishing characteristics that separate teens from the rest! A privilege to get off campgrounds and have a unique experience on their own.
For this day it will be a day to experience the great outdoors on an outdoor hike of the Great Wall region. Surely to be filled with challenge, learning LNT principles, exploring wildlife, (and of course fun!) this day is sure to please. Students will enjoy a picnic packed lunch on the trail before heading back to camp. Our Wilderness department is scouting an exclusive part of the Wall that not many get to experience!
DAY 7
All good things must come to an end, and camp is no different. Goodbyes are always tough - for our staff, too! Campers will have their final breakfast with their bunks and prepare for their showcase- a chance to present all of their learnings from the week.
After the showcase, it’s onto the closing ceremony where acknowledgements are made and final goodbyes are given. Or shall we say, "See you later!" A great end to a great summer experience.

Q
Are cellphones, tablets, headphones and other electronic products allowed during camp for voice or video chat?
A: We intend to create a “tech free” environment at camp to provide children with the opportunity to "sign off", yet "plug in" to those around them. Especially after a period of increased screen time, we trust that a tech free zone is just what our kids need today. All electronics brought to camp will be collected at the beginning of camp and returned to them at the end. Certainly many children will be sent to camp with phones, yet it is important to have a conversation with your child about our electronics policy prior to camp opening.
Q
Are there any washing machines at the camp for the children?
A: No washing machines will be available for children at camp. We strongly advise campers to pack accordingly for their one week stay. Children are free to hand wash items and hang dry. For two weekers we have an overnight weekend where washing machines will be available.
For younger campers it’s suggested that parents should pack daily clothes for children separately, to help them decide what to wear each day.
Q
Can the counselors help tie-up / dry my daughters hair?
A: Children are accompanied by counselors of the same gender in their bunks, and they will help children tie up/dry their hair.
Q
Is there a post-lunch break?
A: Yes, at camp we help find a balance for kids active lifestyle by offering them a 'rest hour' after lunch. Children are welcomed to read, chat, rest, quiet play during their time in their bunks and out of the sun.
Q
Can I get an invoice/fapiao?
A: Yes, please contact your sales representative. Fapiaos are available within 1 month after the given camp session.
Q
Can I send my child deliveries during camp?
A: Yes, if needed, children can receive deliveries during camp, as long as the contents adhere to our camp policies on food, electronics, and more.
