Straighten out是个非常常用的短语，除了字面的“把…变成直线”的意思，还可以引申表示理清、纠正。

还有一个常用意思是绊脚、绊倒。

Navigate /'nævɪgeɪt/ v.

在法律文件中经常能见到这个词，指规定、约定等是有约束力的，必须遵守。

当他们看到我的一个作品，他们意识到它是能对社会有所贡献的。
是不是一听到“贡献”，你脑海中立刻跳出contribute一词，这里的add to可以是另一种地道的说法。
当然，也可以说成是add value/great to society为社会创造价值。
