Until recently, Andrew Yang has been flying under the radar as one of a swarm of Democratic candidates vying to challenge President Donald Trump in 2020.

Yang, a 44-year-old lawyer-turned-entrepreneur, has no political experience and is far from a household name .

Andrew Yang decided to run for president because Donald Trump was elected to the office.

Yang was previously CEO of test-prep education company Manhattan GMAT, which industry leader Kaplan bought for an undisclosed amount in 2009. He also founded Venture for America, a New York City-based nonprofit organization that trains entrepreneurs in a two-year fellowship program.

In the summer of 2017, he says: “I told my wife, ‘Hey, it looks like I am going to run for president.’ And then she said, ‘That’s great, pass the salt’ or whatever, you know and just went on with our dinner.”

“I went to Brown University and Columbia for law school, was an attorney for five months before trying my hand as an entrepreneur. My first dot-com business flopped, but then I worked at a series of other companies.” Yang later moved on to Manhattan GMAT and Venture for America.

Yang believes that automation is going to replace jobs faster than other industrial revolutions, so he launched his campaign on a platform centered around the idea that the government should give every American citizen over the age of 18 $1,000 per month in cash.

He also suggests paying the President $4 million a year.

Yang says he is fully devoted — running for president is no side hustle.

Until recently, Andrew Yang has been flying under the radar (低空飞不让雷达发现,比喻不为人知) as one of a swarm of (一大批) Democratic candidates vying to (vie to,争相) challenge President Donald Trump in 2020.

Yang, a 44-year-old lawyer-turned-entrepreneur, has no political experience and is far from a household name

Andrew Yang decided to run for president (竞选总统,run在这里不是跑步哦) because Donald Trump was elected to the office.

Yang was previously CEO of test-prep (考试培训) education company Manhattan GMAT, which industry leader Kaplan bought for an undisclosed amount (未公布的金额)in 2009.

He also founded (创立,found是动词原形) Venture for America, a New York City-based nonprofit organization that trains entrepreneurs in a two-year fellowship program.

In the summer of 2017, he says: “I told my wife, ‘Hey, it looks like I am going to run for president.’ And then she said, ‘That’s great, pass the saltor whatever(诸如此类的话), you know and just went on with our dinner.”

“I went to Brown University and Columbia for law school, was an attorney(律师) for five months before trying my hand (尝试)as an entrepreneur. ”

“My first dot-com business flopped (失败), but then I worked at a series of other companies.” Yang later moved on to Manhattan GMAT and Venture for America.

他随后在Manhattan GMAT和Venture for America工作。

Yang believes that automation (自动化) is going to replace jobs faster than other industrial revolutions, so he launched his campaign (竞选活动) on a platform (施政纲领) centered around the idea that (that后面的句子用来说明idea)the government should give every American citizen over the age of 18 $1,000 per month in cash.

A centers around B或者A is centered around B表示A以B为中心。例句:His activities in London center around this spot.

He also suggests paying the President $4 million a year.

Yang says he is fully devoted — running for president is no side hustle (副业)
