ZHIYE Art Museum展讯｜张子山的书写
1963年1月13日，英国国家电视台，一支由四个小伙子组成的乐队首次亮相，以一曲《Please please me》（请取悦我）惊艳四座。同一天晚上，一位名不见经传的年轻人也进行着电视首秀，吟唱他创作的《Blowing in the wind 》（在风中飘荡），他们的声音让全世界年轻的耳朵为之倾倒。正是这一年，音乐、文学、绘画、时装……一批超豪华阵容崛起，人们的外貌、生活、思想被永久地改变了。披头士、鲍勃·迪伦，这支乐队和这位歌手，已然成为随之而来的一个时代的先知。
子山少年成名，碑体小楷清俊挺秀，为汉仪字库创作的子山体影响颇广。现在看到他的字，早不是当时的少年，好像听披头士、鲍勃·迪伦们的摇滚——不再是和缓平静的丝竹，而是炸裂的鼓声、崩坏的吉他……他的字，像一把刀，在书法的幕布上划出一道口子，让另一头的光透进来。他的大字屏风，仿佛飓风经过的山谷，一切都被荡涤干净，只剩一片倔强的大树，兀然矗立。再看小字，则像槎桠交错的松枝，玄密交错着的线条，展示的是自然的美。瓦尔特·佩特曾说：一切艺术都渴求着音乐之境 ，即纯粹的形式。张子山的书写世界里，一直在试图寻找某种超越逻辑的纯粹形式，那里有着幸福、欢笑、挣扎、沧桑、一道闪电、一抹霞光，还有某些欲言又止的倾吐。这一切，只能通过笔墨的张力，而不是语言传递出来。
在世俗世界里，家庭背景、正规教育、人脉、奋斗……长久以来，似乎是成功的唯一途径。我们习惯了上班打卡的朝九晚五生活，理智牵绊着我们去发现人生的真谛，转而追求着保守、温馨的路线。真正的艺术，从来不是让我们学会伪装、摆起架子吓唬别人，而是让我们洗去心上的污染，用直觉感受世界，传递真实的喜悦、孤独、哀伤、痛苦……用只属于自己的方式表达出来。之于书法，我们要的不是描头画尾、装腔作势地摆弄，而是走路兴起继而撒欢狂奔的单纯，和吃饭喝水一样的自然而然。从这一点上讲，拥有艺术就是拥有自由。张子山在做的，正是通过自己的笔重新定义书写，跨越让人困惑的旧秩序所筑起的堡垒。对他来说，书写即自由。

Zhang Zishan succeed in early age and his writing of regular script in small characters on tablet looks striking, which powerfully influenced the Zishan font created for Hanyi font-family. Now his writing similar as listen the Beatles or Bob Dylan, no longer peace and calm, but a cracked drum and a broken guitar...even not younger. It’s a knife while cutting a hole in the calligraphy slide to let the light in. His big character screen was like a valley passed by a hurricane, cleaned up and leaving a stubborn tree standing tall. When you check his small characters, it’s like pine branches with staggered branches with dense and mysterious interlaces, we see the nature. Walter Pater once said, all art yearns for the realm of music, that is pure form. For Zishan, he always been trying to find a pure form beyond logic, where happiness, laughter, struggle, vicissitudes, a flash of lightning, a touch of glow, and some topics existed. All this can only be transmitted by brush and ink, not language.
For a long time, background, education, contacts, struggle …seems to be the only way to succeed for secular family. We are used to the nine to five work life. Reason hinders us from discovering the real meaning and instead pursues a conservative and warm route. True art never lets us learn to disguise and put on airs to frighten others, but clean our soul, feel with intuition, and convey joy, loneliness, sadness and pain... but expressed in our own way. As for calligraphy, what we want is not to draw the head and tail and play with postures, but the simplicity of walking and running, natural as eating and drinking. Have art is to have freedom. What Zhang Zishan is doing is to redefine writing through his own brushes and cross the fortress built by the confusing order. Writing is freedom for him.
