Blockchain Runtime Engineer
About Parity
Parity Technologies builds core infrastructure for blockchains and Web 3.0 technologies. This means dealing with P2P networking, consensus algorithms, cryptography, databases, and decentralized applications. Parity Technologies has a small but growing team of developers dedicated to building on Substrate and creating a fantastic developer experience for future users.
About the Role
As Runtime Engineer, you will be working with other Rust developers to build blockchain runtimes, proofs-of-concept, decentralized applications, and implement research on Substrate. You will drive the adoption of open-source blockchain technologies and the Rust programming language. You will inspire the best developer groups around the world and provide them with the training and resources they need to adopt the tech. You will champion the Substrate experience and relay insights to the community and customer teams.
It will be your responsibility to both demonstrate Substrate's potential by building cutting edge blockchain runtimes and to create a community of developers who will follow in your footsteps.
Responsibilities
Build Substrate runtimes for external teams and Parity’s customers.
Provide hands-on guidance on Substrate to external teams and community.
Build tooling, reusable custom modules, and extensions for Substrate.
Evangelize Substrate (and the Rust programming language) to developer communities.
Collect and communicate feedback from customer teams and community members building on Substrate.
Help build an ecosystem of lighthouse projects, tutorials, documentation, and an open-source culture around Substrate.
Requirements
Minimum 4+ years of software development experience and at least 2 years of consulting/customer-facing experience.
Experience with blockchain and building decentralized applications.
Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills.
Ability to work autonomously, be proactive, and function in a small team.
Bachelor’s degree in computer science or related field.
Nice-to-haves
Experience with the Rust programming language.
Background in cryptography, networking, or distributed systems
Open-source software background.
Passion to work on and share knowledge of new technologies.

Developer Advocate
Job Description:
Parity Technologies builds core infrastructure for blockchains and Web 3.0 technologies. This means dealing with P2P networking, consensus algorithms, cryptography, databases, and decentralised applications.
Parity Technologies has a small but growing team of developers and writers dedicated to creating a fantastic developer experience for its technologies. By joining this team you will create user-friendly resources to help developers build on Parity’s products. You will champion developer interests and translate external feedback into useful insights that will shape product and communications.
As Developer Advocate, you will help define what SDKs should contain, write tutorials, create course and presentation content, and contribute all the way down to code-level documentation. It will be your responsibility that the tools and technologies we provide are well-documented and easy to understand and build with.
Job Responsibilities:
Building demos, sample apps, SDKs and continuously improving the developer experience of our products.
Driving adoption of the technology platforms Parity provides, particularly Substrate.
Defining what educational content should be produced and how it should be organised.
Creating workshops, courses, tutorials, hackathons, and online events.
Helping coordinate the internal team of technical writers and content producers with regards to creating, updating, illustrating, and promoting content.
Providing feedback to the internal team of developers by gathering insights from the developer community.
Identifying and engaging strategic opportunities to grow our developer community.
Job Requirements:
Great technical writing skills.
Ability to make complicated subjects easy to understand.
Hand-on experience as a full-stack software developer.
Comfortable presenting to different audiences.
Creative, empathic, and a good communicator.
Experience building a great developer experience, be it in documentation or SDKs.
Knowledge in a wide variety of blockchain technologies.
Passionate about bringing the Web 3 vision of a decentralised web to the world.
