崔付利: 抽离叙事性与文学化想象,可能更接近艺术本身

202020丁一军个展 衍生品 2020.07


游离的自我

视觉、空间和图像主题是绘画作品中形式之隐喻的建筑是艺术家作为自我行动和投射之"代理者"的镜像关系从各种图像化技术产生开始,艺术家把这些技术推到了极限。图像又是如何与自我联系在一起的? 艺术家如何在创作过程中发现和建构自我的主题意识这就是艺术家作品引导我们去认识的内容,这也是它们的价值和我们解读它们的价值所在。同样,这正也是我解读丁一军作品的路径和切入口。

 

2019年,我在成都大浦当代艺术馆策划了丁一军个展"并非丛林"。在他成都驻地创作的绘画和装置作品中多为一些诡异、怪诞又生机勃发的奇异生物形象。它们既像幽灵,又是一个个鲜活的生命个体,同时还有着人的肢体语言和面部表情。它们或惊讶、或谄媚、或得意或狡诈,甚至还充满种种欲望。滑稽、无厘头、怪诞仅仅是丁一军作品的表象,"丛林" 又何尝不是当今物欲横流社会的写照和缩影。丁一军把对社会现实的反思和批判游离于诙谐和调侃的间隙之间,新体系的建构正始于对既有价值的消解。

 

此次丁一军西宁个展"202020",是"并非丛林"的延续和深入。对人性和社会的反思、批判是其作品中的主要线索,对比两次展览的作品可以发现:对个体价值和社会现实的思考与对在地和历史人文的强调并驾齐驱都是其作品创作的注意对象。每一个生命个体都是有意义的,个体既与社会日常的复杂性、偶然性和荒诞性裹挟纠缠,另一方面又要与日常或纠结,或博弈,抑或对抗。不过,与"并非丛林"呈现出不同的是,丁一军此次在地创作放弃了借物喻人的方式。人的形象、身体开始替代了"并非丛林"中怪兽的形象。尽管在柏拉图的哲学世界中,"身体"是一个不可信赖的因素,是灵魂通向它们之间的障碍。但身体某种意义上又是人们找寻意识的媒介和场所,就像绘画只是图像的载体而已。

 

这种明显的变化与 2020 年的特殊遭遇是有直接关联的无情的疫情不仅改变了我们的生活习惯,也在改变着艺术家的问题意识。不过丁一军并没有将疫情题材化而是将问题延伸至更为微观的个体生命。尽管他的最新作品看似更加碎片化和无指向性,不过这也正是丁一军创作中方法意识的体现,他在尝试用一种更为隐喻的方式来对应他的问题意识,以及在问题意识和方法意识的关系中寻求一种错位的转换和表达。语言丰富之处便是绘画的消失之地,丁一军近年来的创作一直在试图剥离绘画中的叙事性和过于文学化的想象,让自我更接近绘画本身。他对绘画语言和图像的处理并不像之前那样平铺直叙,而是在图像处理与观念表达中都发生了一种视觉转换。从图像延伸开来,艺术家本人也开始将个人主观的情绪、态度越来越模糊化和荒诞化,这也使得其作品充满着一种游离的暧昧状态。

 

在"202020"展览作品中,丁一军绘画中的"身体"形象更加抽象和游离,笔触、斑点、线条在画面中自由组合和并置,已经非常任意化。他抽离了绘画中人的身份属性和所指意义,"它"既是你,也是我,是人类命运共同体中的每一个个体。这种去对象化和非模仿性的简化和提炼,在整体上统一了绘画中所运用的全部要素这让他在观念表达和绘画性之间达成了斡旋。这点和"并非丛林"是一脉相承的,丁一军不用直接的表态来介入图像处理,而是以一种调侃、诙谐、幽默的方式在进行视觉编码。同时,把对社会现实的反思隐藏在这个过程中,这也是其作品中游离状态在图像处理方式上的一种体现。


这次个展是丁一军离开西宁20年后的首次回归,早期青海的生活经历和地域文化对他的创作有着直接的影响,尽管他的作品中无关青海的地貌风景和自然景观,但他作品中隐性的野蛮生命力、怪诞的姿态和"原始主义"的神秘感,与青海的地方性知识和文化不无关系。这也让丁一军和他的作品处于一种游离状态,他的作品既不在官方艺术系统,也不在当代观念绘画之列。如同前文中我所描述的,个体既与社会裹挟纠缠,又彼此纠结、博弈或对抗,而选择正基于个体的自我意识。




Free Ego

Visual, spatialand graphic themes are the metaphorical architecture of form in paintings, themirror image of the artist as an agent of self-action and projection. Since thecreation of various visualization techniques, artists have pushed them to their limits. However, how images are connected with the self, and how artists discover and construct the theme consciousness of the self in the process of creation, this is what artists' works lead us to know, and this is also thevalue of them and the value of our interpretation. Similarly, this is also myway to interpret Ding Yijun's works.

 

In 2019, I curatedDing Yijun's Exhibition "Not a Jungle" at Tuff Contemporary Art Museum in Chengdu. Many of his paintings and installations works at hisresidence in Chengdu feature bizarre and vibrant creatures. They are bothghosts and living beings, with human's body language and facial expressions. They may be surprised, or flattering, or complacent, orcunning, or even full of various desires. ludicrousness, absurd and grotesqueare only the appearance of Ding Yijun's works, in a way, the "jungle" is the portrayal and epitome of today's materialistic society. However, DingYijun separated his reflection and criticism of social reality from the gapbetween humor and ridicule, and the construction of a new system started fromthe dissolution of existing values.

 

Ding Yijun's solo exhibition "202020" in Xining is the continuation and deepening of "not the jungle". The response and criticism of humanity and societyare the main clues in his works. By comparing the two exhibitions, it can befound that the consideration of individual value and social reality and theemphasis on local and historical culture are both the objects of attention inhis works. Every individual life is meaningful. On the one hand, individualsare entangled with the complexity, contingency and absurdity of the daily lifeof the society, and on the other hand, they have to be entangled or fightagainst the daily life. However, different from "not a jungle", DingYijun abandoned the way of borrowing objects to represent people. Human figuresand bodies began to replace the monsters of "not the jungle". Thoughin Plato's philosophical world, the body is an untrustworthy factor, a barrier between the soul and them. But in a sense, "body" is also the mediumand place for people to find consciousness,  just like painting is only the carrier of images.

 

The apparent change is directly related to the accident in 2020. The merciless epidemic hasnot only changed our living habits, but also changed artists' awareness ofproblems. Instead of making the epidemic a theme, Ding has extended the problemto more microscopic individual lives. Although his latest works seem to be more fragmented and non-directional, it is also the embodiment of met hodconscious ness in Ding Yijun's creation. He is trying to correspond his problem consciousness in a more met aphorical way, and seeking a misplaced trans for mation and expression in the relationship between problem conscious ness and method consciousness. The richness of language caused the disappearance of painting. Ding Yijun's works in recent years have been trying to get rid of then arrative and too many literary imagination in painting and make himself closerto the painting itself. His processing of painting language and image is not as straight for ward as before, but a kind of visual transformation takes place in image processing and concept expression. Extending from the image, the artist himself also began to blur and absurd his subjective emotions and attitudes, which also made his works full of a kind of free ambiguousness.

 

In the exhibition"202020", the "body" image in Ding Yijun's painting is more abstract and free. The strokes, spots and lines are freely combined and arranged in the picture, which has become very arbitrary. He dissociated theidentity and signification of the human being in the painting.
