Julian Jeffrey, Master of Wellington College Tianjin

On November 9th, 2018 The Visions of International Schools Conference organized by New School Insight opened in Beijing. Mr. Julian Jeffrey, Master of Wellington College Tianjin was awarded the title of “Most Influential International School Principal”. 

The Most Influential International School Principal award was launched in 2016, by New School Insight and aims to publicize and recognize educators who have the highest influence among international schools for their contribution to China's international education. The selection started in September 18th this year, through several rounds, public nomination and shortlisting through to the public vote, expert review vote, and finally the industry review vote. 

The principals who won the award of "Most Influential International School Principal" have achieved outstanding performances in several key areas, such as guiding continuous development in the international education arena, innovative curriculum reform, teaching and management models, and have had an outstanding reputation amongst peers in the industry.

Mr. Julian Jeffrey had been teaching at Wellington College in the UK for 18 years before joining Wellington College Tianjin in 2014. " I was surprised and delighted to receive such a prestigious award. It is recognition for all the staff here at Wellington; their contribution towards helping our pupils to succeed has been exceptional. " he said after winning. Mr. Julian Jeffrey believes that there are not any more important careers across the world than teaching young people. Helping to foster a lifelong love of learning and developing a child’s wellbeing before watching them move on to the next stage of their lives is the greatest pleasure – but equally an enormous responsibility. To him, a child under the care of Wellington College in Tianjin can expect an education that, while it clearly cannot predict the future, does prepare them to be resilient, self-confident and successful adults.
