Global Death Toll Hits 200,000

More than 200,000 people globally have now succumbed to the coronavirus. There are more than 2.9 million confirmed cases of COVID-19, according to the tally.

It comes after the number of fatalities in the US passed 50,000, as Americans endure the world's deadliest outbreak. On 11 January, Chinese state media reported the first known death liked to the virus. More than 210 countries and territories have since reported cases.

There have been 22,614 virus deaths in France since the start of March, but the country's health officials say the mortality rate in hospitals is falling, and the number of people in intensive care has dropped for the seventeenth consecutive day.

全球死亡病例超20万例 美国累计确诊超93万例

美国约翰斯·霍普金斯大学发布的实时统计数据显示，截至北京时间4月26日11时左右，全球累计确诊新冠肺炎病例2921201例，累计死亡203289例。

全球新冠肺炎疫情持续蔓延，“震中”美国累计确诊已超过90万例。欧洲方面仍不容乐观，累计死亡人数逾12万。西班牙将该国国家紧急状态延长至5月10日零时。与此同时，进入斋月的中东各国则纷纷采取措施应对疫情。

As of April 25 18:00, there were no new imported cases of novel coronavirus reported in the city. So far, of all the 54 imported cases, 49 have been discharged upon recovery and 5 are still hospitalized.

No imported suspected cases are undergoing test.

No new locally transmitted cases or suspected cases were reported.

3 asymptomatic infection cases are undergoing medical observation right now, the health commission said.

4月25日6时至18时，我市无新增报告境外输入新冠肺炎确诊病例。累计报告境外输入确诊病例54例（中国籍50例、美国籍2例、法国籍1例、菲律宾籍1例），治愈出院49例，在院5例（普通型3例、轻型2例）。

4月25日6时至18时，我市无新增报告本地新冠肺炎确诊病例，累计报告本地新冠肺炎确诊病例136例，其中男性73例，女性63例；治愈出院133例，死亡3例。

我市无新增报告无症状感染者。累计报告6例（境外输入5例），其中治愈出院1例，转为确诊病例2例、尚在医学观察3例。

经市专家组讨论，第51例境外输入确诊病例符合出院标准，于今日出院，转入集中隔离医学观察点。

截至目前，全市无现存疑似病例，累计排查密切接触者3209人，尚有201人正在接受医学观察。

Luckin Coffee Scandal Highlights Shortcomings in Cross-Border Regulation

"Just like the earlier frauds uncovered at U.S.-listed Chinese companies that triggered a wave of short selling a decade ago, Luckin’s case has again destroyed the credibility of other Chinese stocks in overseas capital markets,” one foreign investment banker involved in overseas listings said. “The issue of cross-border regulatory cooperation between China and the U.S. has not been resolved, and this latest fraud is an opportunity to make progress.”
