Airbus largest layoff plan in history




Airbus said Tuesday it needs to cut 15,000 jobs — or 17% of its commercial jet workforce — within the next year in response to the COVID-19 crisis that has devastated the airline business.

The company said after an “in-depth analysis of customer demand,” it does not expect air traffic to recover to pre-pandemic levels before 2023, and potentially as late as 2025.

Because commercial jet revenue is now 40% below pre-pandemic levels, the job cuts would be much worse without support Airbus is receiving from European governments.

Aside from the prospective 15,000 job cuts, many Airbus employees are now working part-time, with their respective governments paying them unemployment benefits for the hours not worked, through September and in some cases beyond.

The job losses will be distributed so about 5,100 will be cut in Germany, 5,000 in France, 1,700 in the U.K., 900 in Spain and 1,300 elsewhere, mainly in China, the United States and Canada.

These new cuts because of the pandemic come on top of previously announced unrelated losses of 2,600 jobs in the Defense and Space division and another 900 jobs from the restructuring of an Airbus subsidiary in Germany that produces commercial jet parts.

空中客车公司6月30日宣布,将于2021年夏季之前在全球范围内裁减1.5万个工作岗位。这是空客公司历史上最大规模的裁员计划。

空中客车公司由德国、法国、英国和西班牙共同成立。该公司30日举行了四国代表参加的特别会议,并宣布了裁员计划。空客公司在就此发表的新闻公报中表示,受新冠肺炎疫情影响,近几个月来全球商业飞行数量减少约40%,商用航空业也受到波及。鉴于世界航空活动至少要到2023年,甚至可能到2025年才能恢复新冠肺炎疫情暴发前水平,因此,空客公司必须采取行动加以应对。

空客公司表示,裁员将从今年秋季持续到2021年夏季。裁员规模约占公司员工总数的11%。据悉,德国将裁员5100人,法国裁员5000人,英国裁员1700人,西班牙裁员900人,世界其他国家和地区共裁减1300人。

Tianjin: No new Covid-19 case reported


There was no new COVID-19  casereported in Tianjin on 2 of July.

So far, all the 61 imported cases patients have been discharged upon recovery.

-No imported suspected cases are undergoing test.
-No new locally transmitted cases or suspected cases were reported.
-7 asymptomatic infection cases are undergoing medical observation right now

Tianjin has traced 12,195people with connections to the Xinfadi market as of July 1st, all of whom have tested negative for COVID-19. The samples taken from local seafood markets also tested negative as of July 1st.

我市无新增无症状感染者。累计28例(境外输入27例),其中解除医学观察18例、尚在医学观察7例、转为确诊病例3例。

截至目前,全市无现存疑似病例,累计排查密切接触者4610人,尚有338人正在接受医学观察。

截至7月1日16时,全市排查涉及疫情新发地区活动人员12195人,其中具有暴露史人员1902人,均采取集中隔离医学观察,已全部完成核酸检测,均为阴性。排查暴露人员的密切接触者4094人,均采取居家医学观察措施。排查从事销售、储运、加工人员12376人并采集咽拭子样本,已全部完成核酸检测,均为阴性。

截至7月1日16时,对我市海鲜批发市场外环境和水产海鲜、牛羊肉标本采样8452份,已全部完成核酸检测,均为阴性。

You Won’t Be Able to Buy a Gas-Guzzler in China After 2050



No one will be able to buy a new gas-guzzling car in China by 2050, according to a recent think tank forecast.

The Beijing- and Los Angeles-based Innovation Center for Energy and Transportation predicted that China will phase out conventionally powered models by the second half of the century as new-energy vehicles (NEVs) take over the market for new cars, according to an assessment report that the think tank released Tuesday.

According to the center’s latest projections, new private internal combustion engine vehicles — those that run on gasoline or diesel — will no longer be on the market in China by 2045. And domestic manufacturers will stop making all internal combustion engine vehicles by 2050, the center predicted. By that time, gas- and diesel-powered vehicles will make up about 5% of automobiles on the road.


China has been keen to make NEVs far more prevalent as it seeks to curb its severe air pollution. Thanks to government incentives, the country has become one of the fastest-growing markets for NEVs. Sales grew rapidly over the last decade, peaking at 1.3 million in 2018 before dipping to 1.2 million last year.

There are two main ways to get individuals to buy NEVs. The first is to market small electric cars designed simply to get drivers from point A to point B. The other is to offer models priced higher than 200,000 yuan, like Tesla, which offer a more luxurious driving experience.

China released a draft plan last year that suggested raising its 2025 sales target for NEVs to 25%, but no follow-up announcement has been made.

国内传统燃油汽车将在2050年退出新车市场

北京、上海、深圳、海南和雄安应该率先禁售传统燃油车,公交车、网约车等车辆“禁燃”可在2020年实现,私家车应在2030年实现。第三方智库机构能源与交通创新中心6月30日发布《中国传统燃油汽车退出进度研究与环境效益评估》提出上述建议。

电动化是汽车行业转型方向,各国政府出于降低碳排放等诉求也持鼓励态度,激进派甚至提出设置硬性禁售燃油车时间表。中国政府曾表态着手研究,权威人士此后称,禁售燃油车不宜一刀切,应分领域、分行业、分车型逐步推进。

《报告》对传统燃油车退出持乐观态度,预计中国传统燃油汽车将在2050年退出新车市场(私家车将于2045年退出),届时存量市场上的传统燃油汽车比例预计在5%左右。《报告》称,传统燃油车的替代车型主要以新能源汽车和混合动力车型为主,辅以部分天然气等清洁能源汽车。

中国汽车技术研究中心政研中心副主任刘斌认为,新能源汽车向私家车领域推广主要靠两端。一端是小型电动车,主打关注性价比的人群,其价格便宜使用成本低,又能满足基本需求。另一端则是价格在20万元以上的车型,这类产品以特斯拉为代表,能够提供与众不同的产品体验。
