Tianjin has strengthened and upgraded its control measures at nucleic acid test sites and fever clinics as the recent COVID-19 epidemic situation in Nanjing has become serious.

Tianjin also enhanced its COVID-19 prevention and control measures on people coming from domestic high-and medium-risk areas.

UK Private schools are paying scouts in China up to £10,000 for every pupil they send to the UK as the number of Chinese students at top British schools soars, it has been revealed.

The average fee for independent schools in the UK is now £15,191 per year for day pupils and £36,000 for those who board.

UK Vice-President of the Independent Schools Association Neil Roskilly told the publication: 'Once a child is enrolled at a British school, a fee of between 15 and 25 per cent of the first year's school fees is commonly paid to the agent by the school.

'The agent's commission can be for three years or for the time the child is at the school. Agents in China will sometimes ring round private schools in the UK and see what the best commission rates they can get are.'

Overseas families have said they themselves are being charged by agents for introducing them to a school as well as extra costs for advice, tuition in English language and translation.

Parents have said the totals are often adding up to more than £150,000 for a single child with some being as young as eight years old.

China tightens management on international flight staff for COVID-19

China's aviation authorities have asked its relevant departments to work with local governments to implement closed-loop management on flight staff who have direct contact with international passengers and cargo in efforts to intensify COVID-19 prevention and control.
International flight staff should be separated from those serving domestic flights and avoid contact with their family and community members when on duty, according to Feng Zhenglin, head of the Civil Aviation Administration of China.

Feng urged the aviation sector to increase efforts on COVID-19 containment for flight crews as well as the implementation of virus-control measures on airport ground services, especially third-party service providers working in airport operating areas.

While ensuring the COVID-19 vaccination of all international flight staff, Feng called for pushing forward vaccinations for civil-aviation employees and increasing the frequency of nucleic acid testing.

On July 20, nine airport cleaners at the Nanjing Lukou International Airport were found positive for the virus during a routine testing. As of Thursday, the city of Nanjing, capital of east China's Jiangsu Province, has reported 173 locally transmitted COVID-19 cases.

在强化疫情防控工作制度落实方面，《意见》指出，要严格落实旅客健康码查验和测温等工作，持续做好候机楼区域通风和消毒，进一步加强对重点岗位人员的健康监测，严格落实一线工作人员防护装备标准。要从严落实一线工作人员闭环管理，一线工作人员应采取一定工作周期的轮班制，工作期间集中住宿、封闭管理，工作地和居住地点对点转运，严格闭环管理，指定专用通勤车辆，工作期间避免与家庭成员和社区普通人员接触。要扩大核酸检测范围、增加检测频次，根据变异株特点和疫情变化增加一线工作人员检测频次。要严格落实入境货物防疫管理，按照疫情防控指南要求，根据不同风险等级，根据冷链、非冷链，以及货物始发地疫情形势，对入境货物进行风险分级管理。
