What's New In Our Store?

Will Breakfast Champion 2023-11-12

TLDR version: Have we got Marmite? Don't mess me about mate, this is serious business...

Those of you who have been with us since those halcyon pre-covid days will have seen a lot of chages in Breakfast Champion Towers this year. We've been expanding our operations, and our ranges in inverse proportion to our collective waistlines in 2020 (we're all proper trim currently; ready for awards season). We've added so many things this year, from individual products, to whole ranges, that you'd be forgiven for some having passed you by. Well no worries, read on to find out what you might have been missing out on, or skip to the end to see what's still on the way (pleasebemarmitepleasebemarmite).

Sometimes it seems like all you guys want is an endless supply of bacon and chocolate, but thankfully, here at Breakfast Champion, we look beyond the obvious to the small things that really matter. Like Colman's English Mustard, proper Crackers & Cheese, and more chocolate. And talking of chocolate, that's where this round up is kicking off. We've split the article into two, with today's focussing on all the additions to our Pantry section (this is mainly due to the fact there are tonnes of new products, but also because I'm tired and want to go to bed. I'm sure you understand).

The Pantry - Chocolate & Sweets!

Our introduction of Proper Chocolate Bars, Milk & Dark Maltesers, and tubs of Cadbury Roses, Heroes, Quality Street, and Celebrations were met so enthusiastically that we immediately started hatching plans to expand the range.

First up we had a vote on which chocolate bars you guys wanted here (and they're on their way, just be patient), and then we thought 'what about some special chocolates just for Christmas? Let's make the Christmas of not being able to go back home feel at least a little homely'. So we've gone and got you some Thornton's Selection Boxes, and some Walkers' Toffees (not technically chocolate, but the category has an "& Sweets" for a reason). Merry early Christmas to you.

STOP THE PRESS!

News just in! Terry's. Bloody. Chocolate. Orange.
(Not up on the store yet, but will be soon)

The Pantry - Tea & Coffee!

Next up, we've teamed up with our favourite coffee roaster in Shanghai (Jonas Emil) to bring you two great blends, one for that kickstart to the day first thing in the morning (the fairly self-explanitorily named Breakfast Blend) and another for all day every day drinking (Shanghai Silhouette). And we've got both in whole bean and pre ground varieties, so not having a grinder is no excuse for not having really good coffee for a hell of a lot cheaper than buying it buy the cup.

You may have noticed the 'Tea &...' before the 'Coffee' in the title. The tea isn't quite here as yet, but don't fret, you'll be getting your proper teabags in no time.

The Pantry - Crackers, Cakes, & Biscuits!

Just the one recent addition to our range that includes a whole load of McVities Digestives, three types of Carr's Water Crackers, also three types of really delicious Nairn's Oat Biscuits, and our two varieties of Pancake Shakers.

Just the one, but it's a goody. Just in time for Christmas please welcom three types of MacLean's Scottish Shortbread to the range! Exactly the sort of thing I used to buy for my Grandad for Christmas as he was almost impossible to buy for. Everyone loves some shortbread.

The Pantry - Table Sauces & Condiments!

Last (for today), but by no means least comes one of the most important sections for those of you undertaking to cook some British cuisine; condiments. Find within your sauces red and brown, some mayo, and the king of all condiments Colman's English Mustard (anyone who doesn't put it in a bacon sarnie is not to be trusted).

But what newness have we brought to this most traditional part of any pantry I hear you cry!

Firstly we have a blast of the traditional done well, in the guise of Tiptree's fantastic Tomato Ketchup and two great BBQ Sauces (Classic & Cayenne) from the great people at Wowmama. All three will pep up any barbecue or just a weekend indoor grill in the winter.

Secondly, get your lazy midweek chef on and use one of these great premade pasta sauces to knock up some hearty Italian fare. Nice big plate of pasta is the perfect thing for the 10c and drizzle it's been here so far this week.

And finally FOUR, that's right four, count them, varieties of the classic Tabasco Sauce! We have the Original, Chipotle, HOT Habenero, and a banging Sriracha, all waiting to put a kick in whatever you add them to!

Coming soon!

I've not been back to the UK in 2.5 years, we were meant to go back this past summer, but you know how that turned out. That's meant a few things; 1. Most of my family haven't met my son, 2. My shoes are getting tatty (I have size 47/13 feet and find it impossible to get shoes in China), 3. And most importantly I'm on my last jar of Marmite, so this announcement comes just in the nick of time...

It's only bloody jars of bloody Marmite! Oh. My. Freakin'. Days.
YEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEESSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS! YOU BEAUTY!

They aren't quite here yet, so don't go looking on the store and then messaging us asking where they are, but you have my permission to start getting excited.

Next up...

Look out for part two where we'll be rounding up all the non-pantry additions, and announcing a few great incoming items that will be with us before you know it.
