Students’ Happy National Day
October 1st through 7th is Chinese National Day holiday. Many people had a week holiday to relax themselves. It was happy for students because they seldom could go out of the school during the school year. Many students spent their holiday in a special way, three students were interviewed about their holidays.
“I travelled to the seaside with my boyfriend,” said Eliza Lin, 20, college student, Shanghai. “After we graduated from middle school, we only had a little time to stay with each other because we are studying in two different universities. We travelled to Qingdao together in this holiday.” Qingdao is a popular tourist city, according to Lin, many visitors went there so it’s always crowded in the holiday. This has brought a lot of income to Qingdao’s tourism industry. These are very rare given in the pandemic and the bad economic environment.
Bella Ren, 22, studies in Shenzhen. She went back to her family in Guangzhou during the holiday. “I have three sisters and a brother, we study or work in different places in daily life. But this time we stayed together at home for a week! October 3rd was my little sister’s birthday so we made a big birthday cake by ourselves and had a fantastic dinner together. I think these were great memories for me.” It’s a rare thing to be together with all family members. This holiday was Bella’s happiest time of the year.
Cheng Yu, 19, studies in Shandong and spent all the holiday in his college because of the COVID19 policy. Nevertheless, he was very happy. He found many new ways of entertainment with his classmates during the holiday. “My classmates taught me many board and card games. That’s interesting and I never knew them until these day. Also, we watched movies and went to do sports together. These increased my friendship with my classmates. On weekdays, we have no time for such communication due to busy classes.” Although Cheng Yu was happy in school, he also hopes to be free as soon as possible. Travelling abroad is what he hopes to do most this year.
The National Day holiday is over now, and everyone is back to study and work. Genre all people are looking forward to next holiday.
