"Hóng Shāo Ròu" Song Created by Foreigners Goes Viral in China!

“Hóng Shāo Ròu” 红烧肉之歌 (Red-Braised Pork Belly) is a song created and sung by several foreigners which has recently taken the internet by storm after the singers taste their cooked braised pork belly and go nuts from eating it.

They prepare and cook the meat quite professionally: blanching it in boiling water and cutting it into large pieces, then adding an onion and ginger oil in the pot, soy sauce, water and sugar. Simmering for approximately one hour, the end result is mouth-watering.

Red-braised pork belly is a very popular dish in China, yet isn’t a favorite of some people who find it too greasy and heavy.

However, it’s very common for people to the judge the dish at first, and fall completely in love with it after tasting it.
