6  送礼的数量

Number of Gifts

双数礼物:两条烟,两瓶酒。(好事成双)

Even numbers: two cartons of cigarettes, two bottles of wine. 

(As a Chinese proverb says: good things come in pairs)

单数礼物

Odd numbers


四件礼物

因为“四”与“死,death”谐音。

Four pieces of gifts. 

In Chinese, the number "four 四" 

has a similar pronunciation to "death 死".

7  送礼的时间

When You Give a Gift

DO



私下当面送;

撕掉价格标签。


Give the gift in private, face to face;

Tear off the price tag



DO NOT

在大庭广众之下送礼;

保留价格标签。

Give the gift in public, in the presence of others;

Leave the price tag on the gift.

8  送礼的态度

“一点薄礼,请收下。”“我的一点心意,还望不要嫌弃。”“知道您喜欢喝茶,特意给您带了今年的新茶。”


"Here’s a little gift, please accept it.""This represents my best wishes. I hope you like it."“I know you like drinking tea, so I’ve brought you on purpose this year’s new tea.”

“这是一份很贵重的礼物。”

“这个茶叶非常贵。”

"This is a very valuable gift."

"This tea is very expensive."
