Abused 5 Times in 1 Year: Makeup Celebrity Shares Her Story

Earlier this year, we published an article featuring the widely famous and greatly talented Chinese makeup artist He Yuhong, also known as Yuya.

She has gained a lot of online traction and fame after sharing her stunning makeup transformation videos, which many social platforms and channels have covered already.

But this article isn’t yet another cover of her makeup talents.

On November 25, Yuya shocked the nation after sharing a video on her Weibo account to detail her experience with domestic violence.

The video shows Yuya’s ex-boyfriend tugging her at the door of the elevator. 

Yuya lies in the elevator and pushes against the door with her feet, but he drags her out with force, grabbing her by the neck and squeezing hard enough for her to feel like she was suffocating. 

He then grabbed her head and slammed her against the wall.

The man in the video is known as Tuotuo.

At 44 years old, he has already been divorced three times. The two had met through work.

In the beginning, Tuotuo would often ask Yuya out to dinner, gloating about his reputation and his glorious past.

She said she thought he was a warm, kind, brave, and responsible man. 

In early September 2018, the two began dating officially, giving Yuya the illusion that she had finally found the “perfect boyfriend.”

But it wasn’t long before Tuotuo began showing his true colors. 

Tuotuo was very manipulative and controlling of her, forcing her to help him with his work while sacrificing her own career.

He didn’t have a stable job or income, and always relied on Yuya for money. She also reported his abusing their pets.

In the span of only one year, Yuya suffered from 5 different cases of domestic violence from Tuotuo. 

Every time he hit her in the face, it would take one week for Yuya to recover.

His Weibo account shows a completely different image of him: a love of animals and life. Of course, this was all a lie.

The elevator incident happened after Yuya had decided to break up with him, but later chose to forgive him after he had gotten on his knees and convinced her not to with “kind words”. 

Little did she know that only a week later, Tuotuo would hit her once more – the fifth time in their relationship – and throw her to the ground. She tried to stand up, but felt that something wasn’t right with her leg.

He then dragged her over to their door, with his shoes on Yuyua’s face. “I felt immensely insulted,” she reported in an interview, unable to hold back tears from recalling her horrific experience.

After hearing Yuya's story, another one of Tuotuo's ex-wives found the courage to speak up and share her own experience. “I don’t want anyone else to ever make the mistake we made and get hurt, even though I’m afraid that he might come hurt me and the others for revenge,” she shared.

The interviewer asked: “Why didn’t you call the police?”

“He’s great with words,” she answered. “He speaks very eloquently and knows how to get his way and ask for forgiveness, even after abusing us physically.”

He would often threaten her of killing her entire family if she ever tried to call the police, which made her feel trapped. 

Yuya regrets not calling for help and choosing to remain silent instead. “I kept forgiving him over and over again, and every time it was followed by more violence.”

The Chongqing police department has launched an investigation to look into these domestic abuse cases brought against Tuotuo and today they already arrested him. He is placed under administrative detention for 20 days.

Despite fear of retribution, friends and family can help. Together, we need to stand up and eradicate domestic abuse. 

We applaud these brave women for finding the courage and strength to publicly share their tragic experiences, and hope that Tuotuo receives the legal consequences he deserves.
