On February 18, Gigi posted on Weibo celebrating the transfer of her medical beauty company Cosmax from the growth enterprise market to the main board of Hong Kong.

Gigi is the CEO, she has strong capital, stable profits, and a promising future.

From “entertainment Goddess" to "businesswoman" she is now worth more than RMB 1 billion.

Gigi Lai (born on October 1, 1971) is a Hong Kong actress.  Her grandfather is the "father of Hong Kong film" Li Minwei and grandmother is a first generation Hong Kong famous film star, Lin Chuchu.

You could say acting runs in her blood!

Born in a famous family, Gigi lived a very rich and comfortable life in her childhood.

At the age of 9, Gigi reached the first turning point in her life.

With the passing of both grandparents and the ritual of seizing property in Hong Kong, her families lifestyle changed quite drastically.

Gigi's father lost his hearing due to meningitis when he was very young. Their family depended on Gigi's mother to support them by driving trucks. Their family of 4 squeezed into a 20sqm rental house.

Gigi started her acting career at the age of 14 to earn money to support her family as she was feeling burdened with the families a huge debt.

In order to earn money for her brother to study, she worked very hard. She acted in 5 different TV series in 1991.

In 2000, she took on 11 films a year, so that her brother could pursue a master's degree in the UK.

During the filming, other cast members were talking and laughing. She was not "qualified" to play. She had to do her homework.

Her acting in TV series "War and Beauty" was incredible. People cannot resist her beauty with that twinkle in her eye and illuminating smile, she captivated audiences.

With this role, Gigi won her first trophy -- TVB Best Actress.

What many people don't know is that it is Li Ying, her brother, contributed greatly to Gigi's transformation from screen goddess to the boss of a listed company.

In 2003, he went to the University of Wales in the UK to study for a Master's Degree in Dermatology.

By 2005, with the help of his sister, Li Ying opened a skin care center in Hong Kong.

However, on May 30, 2007, a serious car accident completely changed his life.

His lower body was paralyzed and he could no longer take care of himself.

He had been studying hard for more than twenty years. The clinic was his whole life!

Gigi reached the second turning point in her life.

In 2008, Gigi decided to quit her acting career and go into business taking over her brothers business.

In the beginning, upon hearing the founder, her brother was in a car accident, many customers came to refund their money. After just 9 months, though, Gigi was able to turn the business around.

Ma Tingqiang, a wealthy businessman in Hong Kong known as “lame rich” worth more than $100 billion, pursued Gigi for 6 years.

After Li Ying's car accident,  Ma Tingqiang provided help and support to Gigi. Soon after they got married.

Today, Gigi is 48, married, and the mother of three beautiful girls.

She is still beautiful.

After 11 years of persistence, her brother Li Ying is finally able to stand up.

In business for over a decade, Gigi has run the business solo learning how to operate and manage it. Even going as far as to get into the architecture to keep up the best style for the clinic.

This is why many people love Gigi. 

She is not only beautiful on the outside but a hard dedicated worker!

When life has thrown her family curveballs and it seemed the lowest of times, she has still moved forward and grown.
