China’s Luckiest Person in 2018!She Never Has to Work Again!

Crystal Huang GICexpat 2020-01-09

Sadly, our 7-day long national holiday is over… Back to reality.

No desire to work, am I right?

Do you want to get rich overnight and never have to work a single day for the rest of your life?

Well, guess what… This lucky girl doesn’t!

👇

I believe many of you have heard the news over the last two days.

Then who is this lucky "koi fish in Chinese"?

👇

Who is "xin xiao dai信小呆"

How did the title of "China koi中国锦鲤" come about?

(Many online users in Chinese social media believe that sharing the koi fish pictures or reposting them will bring good luck.)

Let’s take a moment to understand what happened:

.

.

.

Two days before the Chinese National Day holiday, Alipay posted on its official Weibo account and said they would pick a prize for one person to be the Chinese koi fish.

All you need to do is share that post on your own Weibo account.

Easy peasy, right?

👇

Then what are the awards?

👇

The list is soooo long that I spent three minutes to finish reading it.

(click to see the larger image for the Chinese list

By the way, this list is not the full list.)

It includes free roundtrip tickets to Thailand, Tokyo, the US, Africa, and so on.

Free iPhone Xs, Huawei, Samsungs…

A lot of food from big name brands, snacks, clothes, and cosmetics products on Tmall...

Free training for being a private pilot for two months in Huston…

Free five-star hotel stays in so many different countries…

All of the above-mentioned prizes are REALLY attractive.

Next thing you know, everyone on Chinese social media went nuts and started sharing this post to win the lucky draw.

In only a few days, the post had been reposted by close to 3,000,000 people.

👇

October 7th was the big day… the day they would announce the winner.

👇

Alipay used the lottery platform to randomly select a lucky person.

And that lucky person was…

the Weibo user @信小呆

The lucky person @信小呆 was shocked and posted:

“So… I don't need to work for the rest of my life???"

👇

Alipay staff even left a comment and said: "We are not liars... Please check your inbox."

A lot of other online users got excited about her winning, even though they hadn’t been picked in the lottery

They left a lot of comments on this lucky girl's Weibo

👇

A: What are you doing? Just throw your resignation to your boss's face!!!

B: You are the lucky one out of three million people, you don't have to work.

C: Job? Your job is to find a son. Can I be your son?

D: I declare unilaterally that, for the rest of my life, I only want you.

E: Hey mom, I'm your daughter!!

She is sooo lucky.

I'm not jealous, not jealous, not jealous at all.

On September 14th, she was complaining how poor she was.

 👇

And now... well, you know.....

She used to have only a few hundred followers on Weibo, and now that number skyrocketed to more than 730,000...
