This song 《美》is one of his most popular songs.
In this song, the lyric has kept repeating :
Nǐ zhè me měi.
你 这 么 美。 (You are so beautiful.)
This character has two parts, the upper part is 羊 yáng (goat) and the downer part is 大 dà (big). In the ancient time, Chinese ancestors thought the bigger the goat is, the more beautiful. And also this character looks like a man wearing goat's horn or feathers to decorate himself, which was considered to be beautiful at the old time.
Nǐ zhè me
The expression 你 这 么+ adj. means “ You are so...”. For example:
Nǐ zhè me cōng míng ,yī dìng huì míng bái.
你 这 么 聪 明 ,一 定 会 明 白 。
(You are so clever, you will understand for sure.)
Hope you will enjoy the song, see you next time!
