High-temperature allowance

Between the months of June and September, companies in several provinces will begin paying out “high-temperature allowances” to workers asked to perform their duty outdoor and under hot weather conditions (35°C / 95°F or above) and inside their workplace if the indoor temperature cannot reach below 33°C / 91°F.

In such cases, the additional “high-temperature” pay will be added to the employee’s monthly wage. However, it is important to note that employees do not have the right to stop paying their staff if they reduce their working hours or stop working altogether because of unbearable temperatures.
