GICexpat 2020-08-28

Kindergartens and primary schools in China's Hubei Province, once hit hard by COVID-19, will not resume classes this semester, according to a circular released by the provincial epidemic prevention and control headquarters on Thursday.

All schools in the province, as well as universities, will take their summer vacations no later than the end of July, and will start the fall semester according to usual practice, it said.

After-school training institutions can restart business in an orderly manner after passing through the authorities' checks and evaluations.

No new confirmed, asymptomatic or suspected COVID-19 cases were reported in Hubei on Wednesday, the provincial health commission said Thursday.

As the epidemic began to wane, the province lowered its novel coronavirus emergency response posture from level II to level III starting June 13.
