Another Typhoon! "Higos" Expected to Make Landfall On…
A tropical depression in the waters northeast of the Philippines is reportedly forming and could develop into the seventh typhoon of the year, dubbed "Typhoon Higos”, on Tuesday, August 18. Its landfall, which may affect the region stretching from the western side of Guangdong province to the northeastern coast of Hainan, is expected to hit on Thursday, August 20.
This would be China’s third typhoon this year.
As per usual, regions impacted by this natural phenomenon, including Guangdong, Guangxi, Hainan, and Yunnan, will experience heavy rainstorms, with Guangxi expected to be the hardest hit over the coming weekend.
Meteorological experts and authorities remind the public to avoid outdoor activities when such events take place, and will take preventive measures necessary to ensure everyone’s safety during the storm.
