Do I need 14 days home monitoring to return to the city (those who move across provinces or middle or high risk areas are included.) during the Spring Festival?

What is the difference between home monitoring and isolation? The latest response from the National Health Commission.

Recently, local clusters of epidemics have occurred in many places in China, and epidemic prevention and control in rural areas has become a top priority.

To this end, the State Council joint prevention and control mechanism issued the Covid-19 epidemic prevention and control work plan in rural areas to ensure a healthy and safe Chinese New Year for the public.

The National Health Commission once again answered the question of returning home during the Spring Festival.

Q: When will the Plan be implemented?

A: In order to prevent and control COVID-19 epidemic in rural areas in winter and spring, returning home with a negative nucleic acid test certificate will be implemented from the beginning of the Spring Festival travel rush on January 28 to the end of March 8.

Q: The Plan stipulates that "after returning home with a negative proof of nucleic acid test, isolation is not required, but home health monitoring is required for 14 days".

Should we not implement the home health monitoring for 14 days after returning to the city?

A: Returnees referred to in the plan refer to those who have returned to rural areas from other places, who are required to return home with a negative nucleic acid test certificate and undergo home health monitoring for 14 days.

People returning to cities should comply with the epidemic prevention and control requirements of their destinations.

Q: What is the difference between home monitoring and isolation mentioned in the protocol?

A: Home health monitoring.

Body temperature and symptoms should be monitored. Do not go out unless necessary. If you have fever, dry cough, sore throat, impaired smell or taste, diarrhea and other physical symptoms, go to the hospital in time.

But home isolation is under the guidance of community medical staff, living alone, can not go out.

Q: If I return home before January 28th, do I need to have a nucleic acid test on the seventh and 14th days after returning home

A: Those returning home after the Spring Festival travel rush begins on January 28 should have a nucleic acid test on the 7th and 14th day respectively after returning home.

Whether those returning home before January 28 need nucleic acid testing depends on the destination requirements.
