China's most popular livestreaming star Li Jiaqi was included in the latest edition of Time magazine's flagship franchise - Time100 Next.

If you play Douyin or have the Little Red Book APP, you may know of Li Jiaqi, better known as the “Lipstick king”.

In 2019 he became one of the most popular people in China. So who exactly is he?

Jack Ma and he did a live broadcast to see who could sell the most lipsticks!

Li, the "lipstick king" of China, is a magical live-streaming celebrity who can sell 15,000 lipsticks in just five minutes. WOW! His record has still not been broken yet!

He also maintains a strong sense of social responsibility through charitable undertakings such as poverty alleviation and helping with the recovery of Chinese cities' economy during the pandemic.

He recommends dozens of lipsticks and makes buying them readily available.

Many people think his popularity is due to luck but others say his beautiful mouth presenting these lipsticks and his comedic “Oh My God” is what keeps them coming back!

In just a few months, thanks to these OMG videos, Li has accumulated 19 million fans on Douyin and 4 million fans on Little Red Book.

When he first broadcast, there were less than 1,000 viewers a day.

Li claims to know women well and tests all products and shades on himself. He once tried on 380 different shades in one night!

Afterward, his mouth was raw, dry, and peeling. He was dehydrated and had a fever but he still insisted on continuing his live streaming.

Shortly after, his followers increased to 300,000!

In December 2017, Li just as counter sales, earned 3,000 RMB per month to an annual income of 10 million RMB in a short 2 years, his followers reached over 13 million!

Li gives detailed descriptions of lipsticks, selling points, what the colors are best for…a blind date vs. future mother-in-law and is always kind and thoughtful with his audience.

At the end of us videos he’ll emphasize with his quirkiness; “buy it, buy it, buy it!”

Followers really trust him as he recommends colors based on many things that are important to women such as skin tone, eye color, clothing and different styles.

Li has now since moved onto more than just lipstick; with various makeup products and perfumes also linked and recommended within his videos. With tens of millions of followers, can you guess what his advertising fee is?

No less than….500,000 RMB.

Chinese short video platforms are recording the lives of a substantial number of ordinary people and make them shine. It’s like a virtual gold rush in China now, as many of them have made a nice shot for fortune and fame.

Li Jiaqi's story teaches us to pursue your passions and keep at them.

Always fight for your dreams.
