100 men waiting to blind date with only 5 female went viral

A video showing a long line of men waiting to join a blind date with only 5 female held on Saturday in Pizhou, Jiangsu Province went viral on social media platforms and has stirred controversy nationwide.

The Pizhou Civil Affairs Bureau said it was a result of an imbalance in the proportion of marriageable men and women in the city.

The matchmaker said there is a proportion of 100 men to 20 women among the people who are looking for partners through his agency.

Now, women now have an upper hand in the marriage market.

Their standards are getting higher and higher. Modernity has changed the way young  women's view marriage, which is especially true for educated women who dedicate their live to their careers.

Basic requirements for a future husband may nclude a car and a house, and whether his job is stable or not, and, the bride price which the money the groom or his family gives to the parents of the bride before marriage, is above 160,000 yuan with some reaching higher. 

Gold necklaces, rings and bracelets are also required. It is easier to find a partner if the boy is handsome, rich and tall.
