02本文作者简介

Zoltán Kövecses is Professor of Linguistics in the Department of American Studies at Eötvös Loránd University, Budapest. From 1982-83, he worked on his Ph.D. in the Linguistics Department of the University of California at Berkeley. He is also working as a lexicographer and is the author of several Hungarian-English and English-Hungarian dictionaries. He is currently working on the language and conceptualization of emotions, cross-cultural variation in metaphor, and the issue of the relationship between language, mind, and culture from a cognitive linguistic perspective. His major books include Where Metaphors Come From. Reconsidering Context in Metaphor, Ten lectures on figurative meaning-making: The role of body and context and Language, Mind, and Culture.
