Grand Evening of Serbian Art and Wines / 塞尔维亚艺术和葡萄酒盛大晚会

It was a luminous evening of a walk through the vibrancy and beauty of Serbian art, coupled with exquisite Serbian wine that was rich and ripe in flavor, bringing to China a vivid and meaningful experience of the Serbian Culture. 

The exhibition by Serbian artist Dr. Mateja Ristic in part interrogates our distorted relationship to technology and social media offering a subtle discourse about the ever-present dance of being technologically connected and emotionally and cognitively disconnected.  In another part, it showcases the artist's conversation with self, an aim at finding peace in ones own solitude and independence of self and being.

His images are inspired by a deep-seated sense of curiosity and a need for self-exploration, a need to make sense of the world around him.

The event is supported by the Republic of Serbia Consulate General in Shanghai, with Honored guest speaker Vice Consul Mr. Sasa Jeremic, and the Serbian Chamber of Commerce Representative Office in China.

2022年7月2号下午4点，一场名为《平凡之下》的 展览在上海 H Gallery顺利展出开幕。展览将会持续到7月31日。

At 4pm on July 2nd, 2022, an exhibition named "Enter The Ordinary" opened smoothly at H Gallery in Shanghai. The exhibition runs until July 31.

展览「 平凡之下」展出了 塞尔维亚艺术家 ⻢特亚·里斯蒂奇 Mateja Ristic 博士两 个系列的作品:《平凡之下》与《平衡》。前者是在布满网 络媒体的社会环境下，对我们繁忙生活进行的反思。后者通过视觉的方 式 去自我观察与感受，让自己在困难的时期下寻求慰藉和平衡。

在生活中，网络媒介指 引着我们注意力的方向，社会⻆色指挥着 我们如 何生活 。通过这两个方面，平凡的生活好像就能被安排地明明白白。然 而，艺术家 Mateja Ristic 意识到这里没有情感状况和自我的真相。艺术 家用视觉语言将内在精神上升到画面，再与之相 互作用和对话，呈现了 自我面对媒介系统和社会系统的反思。

Mateja Ristic 的作品跨越了单一的文化属性，能够给观众呈现一种全新 的 精神模式。同时，这个展览藏着一个秘密，期待您的发现。

H Gallery is delighted to present a solo exhibition Enter the Ordinary by Dr. Mateja Ristic, a visionary polymath whose approach to painting was both radical and singular. Here, Mateja presents two series of works: A Portrait of the Ordinary, and (un)balanced. The former is an exploration of our busy, media-saturated lives characterized by an absence of awareness and lack of attention. The latter is a visual autoethnography; a search for solace in troubling times. Respectively, both showcase the artist’s reflections on ordinary, everyday life in visual language.

Mateja's works transcend cultural singularities and presents a critical approach for the audience to consider. At the same time, this opus of works leaves room for everyone to work through their own perspectives. We are looking forward to your discovery.
