Upcoming | CCG Event at Munich Security Conference 2023

The Center for China and Globalization (CCG) will host a physical side event on Saturday, Feb. 18 evening during the Feb 17-19 Munich Security Conference (MSC) 2023.

Dr. Henry Huiyao WANG, Founder and President of the CCG, Amb. Mdm. FU Ying, Deputy Chairwoman of the Committee on Foreign Affairs of the National People’s Congress, and YAO Yunzhu, Director Emeritus, Center on China-American Defence Relations, Academy of Military Science, People’s Liberation Army, are the three Chinese participants of the MSC.

Dr. Mable Miao, Secretary-General of CCG and a Munich Young Leader 2020, is among the Chinese observers invited to the MSC 2023.

CCG, a non-governmental thinktank, has been the only Chinese organization that has been invited by the MSC to host side events. In 2020, John Kerry recounted his climate engagement with China at the CCG side event at the MSC.

For this year, drawing on insights from policy advisors and area specialists from China, the United States, and Europe, the CCG side event aims to examine US-China bilateral relationship through both the lenses of climate diplomacy and broader geopolitical issues. 

The central questions it seeks to address include:

▶How will the bilateral relations move forward in the context of a newly inaugurated Congress in the US and a new administration in China to be installed soon in March?

▶What are the conditions for and constraints on the two sides’ efforts in building a floor for the bilateral competition?

▶What are the opportunities and challenges for China-US climate cooperation and the implications for the global climate agenda?

▶Which proposals from the international community can help promote global governance cooperation between the world’s two largest economies?

The internationalization of Chinese enterprises is one of the most notable aspects of economic globalization in the 21st century.
