2022年11月22日，民心学校迎来喜讯，总校长潘淑娴博士收到国际文凭组织（IBO）发来的书面通知：广州南沙民心港人子弟学校已通过国际文凭组织审核，被批准正式成为IBDP候选学校！民心学校IBDP全球代码为063117。

On 22 November 2022, Minxin School received exciting news from the International Baccalaureate Organization (IBO). In a letter addressed to our Head of School, Dr Halina Poon, Minxin Hong Kong School (Guangzhou Nansha) has officially been approved to become an IBDP candidate school. Our IB school code is 063117.

民心学校在正式开学不足百日的时间里，即获得正式的DP候选学校身份，这对于民心来说，不仅是办学实力的彰显，也是国际化教育水平的有力证明。随着IB课程及其资源的引入，将大大助力民心IBDP课程体系的构建和完善，民心将更加坚定信心，向IB世界学校进击！

Minxin School has obtained official DP candidacy status within less than 100 days of its official opening. This is not only a testament to our school’s excellent management, but it is also a demonstration of our international education level. With the introduction of the IB curriculum and its resources, our curriculum system will have more room to flourish and grow, arming Minxin with the confidence to establish itself as an IB World School.

WHAT is IBDP 

什么是IBDP课程

IB课程全称International Baccalaureate,是由国际文凭组织IBO为全球3-19岁的学生开设的课程体系，包含四大课程门类：小学项目（PYP）、中学项目（MYP）、大学预科项目（DP）以及职业教育项目（CP）。IB课程与A-Level、VCE、AP课程并称全球四大高中课程体系。

The full name of the IB course is International Baccalaureate. It is a curriculum system offered by the International Baccalaureate Organization (IBO) for students aged 3-19 around the world. The IB Programme offers four different educational programmes: Primary Years Programme (PYP), Middle Years Programme (MYP), Diploma Programme (DP), and Career-related Programme (CP). The IB Programme is among one of the four major internationally recognized high school curriculum systems, along with A-Levels, VCE, and AP courses. 

其中，IBDP大学预科项目是国际文凭组织（IBO）在综合各国课程优势的基础上，为具有较强学习动机的16~19岁学生设计的具有学术挑战性、注重学科平衡性、实行全球统一毕业考试的两年制教育项目。它致力于培养具有终生学习能力的国际公民，具有和谐均衡的课程体系和严格的评估体系，是有着巨大影响力的国际化课程。

Among the four education programmes offered by IBO, the IB Diploma Programme (IBDP) is a university preparatory program designed for students aged 16 to 19 with a strong emphasis on students’ desire to learn and provides comprehensive curriculum advantages in various countries. It is a two-year education program that implements a globally standardised graduation examination that is both academically challenging and subject balanced. It is committed to cultivating international citizens with lifelong learning ability, with a well-balanced, international curriculum system and strict evaluation system.

IBDP由3门核心课程和6组学科课程组成，核心课程包括认识论（TOK），“创造（Creativity）、行动(Activity)、服务(Service)”（CAS）、“拓展性论文”（EE）。学科课程则涵盖语言与文学研究、语言习得、个体与社会、科学、数学和艺术六大学科领域。

The IBDP consists of three DP core elements and six subject courses. The three core components required in all subject courses include: Theory of Knowledge (TOK), "Creativity, Activity, Service" (CAS), and "The Extended Essay" (EE). Subject courses cover six major subject areas: language and literature studies, language acquisition, individuals and societies, sciences, mathematics, and art.

IBDP文凭受到世界各地顶尖大学的青睐，有证据表明，DP毕业生就读世界排名前20的高等教育机构的机会更高。进入大学后，学生凭优秀的DP成绩可直接获得大学学分，免修同类课程。

The IBDP Diploma is coveted by top universities all around the world and evidence shows that DP graduates have a higher chance of enroling in a Global Top 20 tertiary education institution. Upon entering university, IBDP students with excellent DP results can directly obtain university credits and are exempted from similar courses.
