Dr. Yang awarded as the "Most Creative Head of School"

The 5th Annual International School Industry Conference and the 2nd Women's Leadership Summit was held in Shanghai from October 26th to 27th. At the award ceremony on October 26, the “Top 10 Most Creative Head of School / Kindergarten” of the 2021 Orchid Awards Selection were announced. Dr. Yang Yang, Deputy Head of Wellington College Tianjin, was awarded the prize of the "Top 10 Most Creative Head of School / Kindergarten".

The purpose of this award is to recognize the female principals who have made outstanding contributions to the field of international schools, to spread their educational experiences and ideas, to share their educational thoughts and achievements, and to promote their dedication and character. They are professional, good at management, have the responsibility and dare to take charge! They are resilient, innovative, and in pursuit of excellence; they show their leadership skills, positive work ethic, and unlimited passion for exploring the future.

Dr. Yang Yang, the Deputy Head of Wellington College Tianjin

Dr Yang holds a PhD in Sociology of Education. She is a guest professor and a supervisor of master students at the School of Education of Tianjin University and also a member of the Tianjin Hongqiao District Political Consultative Conference. Dr Yang formerly worked as the Director of the International Department of Tianjin Nankai Middle School and Vice-Principal of Foreign Language School affiliated with Tianjin Foreign Studies University. Dr. Yang has extensive experience in teaching and management experience in both the domestic education system and the international education field. During her six years at Wellington College Tianjin, she has been actively exploring the path of international education, trying to build bridges between Chinese and expatriate teachers and students, between the parents and the school and between the school and the community; striving to provide a good platform for students’ development and success in terms of the curriculum, the teaching team, and the culture of the school.

A good principal creates  a good school, the soul of the school. The principal is the leader of the school's values and the promoter of the school's development.

Dr Yang commented, “In its history of more than 10 years, Wellington College Tianjin has always adhered to the Wellington Values, hoping that the pupils can experience and learn respect, kindness and responsibility; develop the courage to face challenges and take Wellington as the place where their dreams come true. To me, I am grateful to be able to develop with the pupils and the school here. This award will also inspire me to continue to be creative in my work and to work hard to let the pupils become international talents who promote world peace in an ever-changing world.”
