Hello everyone, I'm Michelle. As a keen mountaineer, I have been meeting challenges from peak to peak in my professional career of more than 20 years. In 2005, I served as PYP project coordinator, leading the team to boldly explore, constantly innovate, and finally achieved the authorization of the earliest batch of schools in Mainland of China, and successfully explored a road of integration of national curriculum and international curriculum. In 2013, I became IBAP workshop leader, school consultant and school visiting team leader, and was invited to participate in the compilation of the official research document “The CNC and The PYP”. Since then, I have not only visited famous IB international schools at home and abroad, but also led various workshops in Malaysia, the United States and China.
Albert Einstein once said: education is remains after one has forgotten what one has learned in school. In my opinion, these “remains” are long-enduring concepts, positive attitudes, lifetime skills, the power to take action, the “hard core” that will bravely and wisely meet the challenges of the future, and the soft power that will help every child become a better person!
In ISA Liwan, I will embark on a new journey with you. I believe that the advanced philosophy, rich curriculum, diverse assessment and excellent faculty team will give children endless possibilities and eventually develop them into active lifelong learners – They’re healthy, confident, communicative, passionate about learning and curious about the world. Hello, I'm Jeremiah. Growing up in Singapore gave me the opportunity to be immersed in a multilingual learning environment and multicultural society, thus, shaping the global perspective I now hold as a teacher and school leader.
As an educator, I am committed to igniting that curiosity within our students so that they become inquirers and independent learners. As a school leader, I am committed to working with our faculty to ensure that the learning environment is safe, nurturing and progressive for all students. As an IB Workshop Leader and PYP Programme Leader, I am fully committed to the IB mission in developing compassionate lifelong learners who can make this world a better place.

Hello everyone, I'm Lauren. I am very excited to be part of the ISA Liwan team. I am looking forward to welcoming all the new smiling students to the school. I am from Ireland in a small rural touristic area called Kerry. With this in mind, I always have an interest in the outdoors and learning about the many new cultures that visit my beautiful country. This is a quality I bring to the classroom.
It is my first time in China therefore I am very excited to embrace this culture and hopefully learn the language along the way. I love to learn new languages, I studied French in school and I studied Spanish as part of my bachelors degree. I am a life long learner and I also love to travel. I taught in an IB school in the United Arab Emirates last year, my teaching style reflects this as I encourage my students to be reflective thinkers and inquirers in their own learning through different styles of learning and activities. The students in ISA Liwan are future leaders and they will take the skills learned in ISA to further their lives in the future. The students in my classroom will be enthusiastic to learn through active learning opportunities, team work and leadership work in order for them to grow as a person and develop important skills.
I have a keen interest in sports. I currently play football and Basketball. I believe that sport helps students to learn key values such as the importance of team work, developing social skills and instilling in students a sense of pride and discipline; it promotes commitment and it can help students formulate leadership skills. I also love Music, which encourages children to have belief and power within themselves to explore their ever growing talents.

Hello, I'm Nicole Wang from Guangzhou. I graduated from the Education University of Hong Kong, majoring in Curriculum, Teaching and Assessment, and obtained the PGDE PYP (Chinese) teaching Certificate from the University of Hong Kong. I’m a registered teacher in Hong Kong. With 6 years of education experience, I have worked in an international school in Hong Kong for 3 years and an IB school in Guangzhou for another 3 years. During my work in the IB School, as the Chinese Homeroom Teacher and Head of the Grade, I participated in the teaching and research of the Chinese Curriculum and the Unit of Inquiry (UOI) course. While working as PYP Grade 6 homeroom teacher, I facilitated Grade 6 students to complete the PYP Graduation Results Exhibition. I have guided and assisted students in participating in the International Chinese Language Festival and achieved excellent results. From 2020 to 2021, I was honored as “Excellent Homeroom Teacher” and “Excellent Teacher” of the school. In 2020, my academic paper on pastoral care for students with special education needs won the second prize.
I believe that education should be people-oriented and student-centered. Teachers should take actions to achieve fair education, create a warm classroom, cultivate students’ growth mindset and influence students with a positive attitude so that students will constantly surpass themselves, master better skills to face difficulties and solve problems. At the same time, I also hope that students can maintain the nature of being an active inquirer and a risk-taker to discover and explore knowledge in their daily life.

Hello, I'm Michael, and I am originally from Manchester, England. I am really excited to be joining ISA and teaching primary years as a homeroom teacher. I have been a teacher for over 12 years teaching ESL to students from as young as 2 years old to 18 years and older.
I moved to China in 2015 to experience the rich culture of the country and to try the many different cuisines available. Since coming to China, I have fell in love with the country and found the person to spend the rest of my life with. We have a 10-month-old baby who will be joining the ISA Liwan family in Early Years once she is old enough. The philosophy of ISA Liwan is a large reason why chose to come to this school and I am helping to develop the minds of our students.
As a teacher of IB, I understand the importance of continuing to develop skills and knowledge which is why I am currently studying a PGCE (Postgraduate Certificate in Education) at the University of Cumbria.

Hello, I'm Sherry from Sichuan. It is a very beautiful place where you can see the national animal of China, the giant panda. In my opinion, every child is as cute and precious as a giant panda. That's why I love and enjoy spending time with the children.
I have been working as an educator for 5 years, during which time I have always been a homeroom teacher. I have been to different cities and schools, met children from different countries and regions, and met families from different backgrounds. I can see the unique character and strengths of each child, and I know the expectations of each parent. Just like every mom and dad, I also want children to grow up healthily, happily and confidently.
This is the reason why I insist on IB education. It embraces the differences of each child and upholds the belief that “it is better to teach someone how to fish than to just give him a fish”, cultivates children’s skills and character, develops children’s thinking and broadens their vision, and helps children become life-long learners. I believe that children who grow up under such a philosophy of education will surely have their own achievements in the future. I will also do my part to help my children on their journey of growth.

Hello, I'm Tim. I completed my initial education training in Sydney Australia and has spent the past 15 years working in both public and private schools. I joined ISA in 2017 and worked as a homeroom teacher at the Tianhe campus across all grade levels throughout the PYP Program. I enjoy encouraging students to be part of hands-on learning and believes a safe and happy learning environment are the keys to a successful schooling experience.
I hope to continue my journey at ISA Liwan and believes that learning is a lifelong journey which can be shared by both students and teachers alike. Hello everyone, I am Hong. I have a Master's degree of Education from the Department of Education at New Jersey College and I am honored to join the ISA Liwan family in July 2022. For the past 10 years, I have worked as a Chinese teacher from primary to junior high schools in three overseas international schools. My students come from all over the world. The international working environment not only allows me to better understand multiculturalism, but also broadens my educational horizons, which will help me guide ISA students to become active, inquiring, knowledgeable, thoughtful and open-minded global citizens.
I believe that a qualified teacher should not only help students succeed academically, but also guide students to become positive, adventurous, and good communicators in their daily campus life. I will care and teach each student with my heart, keep positive interaction with students’ parents, to achieve better personalized teaching and training goals. As a committed lifelong learner, I am always pursuing new learning opportunities; in the past two years, I have completed training in Philosophy for Children, mindfulness, and oracy education. Inquiry and reflection energize and inspire my teaching practice.
Our students are future leaders, and they must take agency in their own learning. Every learner should have a voice and the tools to express themselves effectively. Furthermore, social interaction is central to the learning process, so students must practice collaboration and teamwork. My students are active, engaged, empowered, and inquisitive. My role is to guide students to reflect on where they are, where they are going, and how to get there.

Hello, everyone. I'm Shirley Cheng. I grew up in a Korean family in China and benefited from the multicultural environment a lot, so I was deeply attracted by the Vison of ISA, which is “building a Multi-Cultural Ecosystem of International Education”.
I have been engaged in teaching Chinese as an international language for 7 years in China, South Korea, the United States and France, and I am really passionate about this career. I led my students to win the first and second prizes in the National Chinese and Science Competition in the USA, and the second prize, the best style award in the French Chinese Bridge Competition. I have achieved Outstanding Teacher Awards in USA and France, the Special Honor from the College Board in the USA.
My greatest achievement is not only the award of the competition, but also the smiling faces of the students. I focus on cultivating students’ growth mindset and inspiring students to communicate and explore new knowledge in a safe and positive environment. I look forward to sitting on the top of the book mountain with you, getting to know the vastness of the universe and the mystery of nature, then meeting with the ones inside ourselves.

Hello, I'm Philippe. I first got graduated in Physical Sciences in Rennes University. Then I specialized in Education of French language for foreign learners, I got a master's degree from Rouen University in France. Later, I got an Engineering Master's Degree in E-Learning from Montpellier University (all universities in France).
I am an experienced teacher of foreign languages mainly in French but also in Spanish, as I taught them for 22 years including 11 years in high school and middle school with proven abilities in fostering and inspiring learners, giving the students the language and cultural background to be able to live and study in France. Here in China, I have 9 years of experience teaching Chinese students in high school, middle school, and university. Among them, in a Chinese High School in Foshan, for 8 years I prepared the students for the Gao Kao and French Diplomas and Tests (like DELF, TCF), and trained them for the interview with French universities. In Dongguan I taught university students in a program with CNAM, a well-known engineering school in Paris where Gustave Eiffel studied (he is the engineer who built the famous tower in Paris). I also have 3 years of experience as Head of French Department in a Chinese High School (Foshan) managing the French teachers' team and preparing the students to go studying in France.
All these years, in China and in the other countries I worked, I organised cultural and linguistic activities in the school and with other institutions and arranged exchange programs with French high schools. I am a responsible and dedicated teacher with a strong background at developing, planning, and executing innovative pedagogical contents and I am proficient in official exams preparation procedures with solid skills to create an encouraging learning environment to help students to achieve their highest potential.

我曾经遇到过一位刚开学就以各种理由请假的学生。经观察发现,该名学生性格比较内向,在校期间经常独来独往,成绩中等水平。跟家长沟通后,我了解到家长因工作繁忙,感觉亏欠孩子,所以只要孩子提出不想去上学,都会给孩子请假。通过家访沟通,家长明白了这种做法的危害性。同时我给该名学生安排了一位擅长交际的同桌,课下找他谈心,并在课上特意叫他回答问题,增加他的成就感。慢慢地,学生不再随意请假,其成绩也逐步上升。
世上没有两个完全相同的人,每名学生都是带着各自的性格气质走进教室。作为教师要学会因材施教,用发展的眼光看待每一名学生。我认为只有真正站在学生立场去思考教学,才能促进学生身心健康发展。

Hello everyone, I'm Songlin. I graduated from Northeast Normal University with both a bachelor’s degree and a master’s degree. I have worked in a key public school for 8 years and a quality private school for 3 years. And I ever served as subject group leader, grade leader, safety director, and moral education director. I believe that love and responsibility are the core of teaching.
I had a student who asked for leave with various reasons at the beginning of a semester. I noticed that HE was very introverted and always alone in school. After communicating with parents, I realized that his parents were too busy on work to look after him. Thus, they usually granted most of his request as a compensation. I visited his family and told the parents that it would affect children badly. Besides, I let an active student become his desk mate. I asked him to answer questions often in class to increase his sense of accomplishment. And I chatted with him after class to make sure his mental wellbeing. Gradually the student stopped asking for leave randomly, and he got better grades.
There is no two identical people in the world. Every student enters the school with their own personalities. Teachers should really love students and be willing to be responsible for their lives. Therefore, education should not be "one size fits all". Only when we consider teaching from students’ position, can students' physical and mental health be promoted.

I once worked as a data analyst in MetLife Insurance Company and the Obamacare Programmes in New York State. After coming back to China, I worked in International Organizations such as Schwarzman College, Global Competency Development Centre in Tsinghua University, and Whittle School & Studios, etc.
Throughout my high school life in Maryland, I served as the Vice President of National Honor Mathematical Society because I was completely obsessed with everything about Math at that time. Hello, my name is Will Wei. I'm very happy to be a math teacher in ISA Liwan this semester. I graduated from the Department of education of Guangzhou University, and am currently studying for a master's degree in education and international Chinese. I am a handcraft enthusiast, origami, embroidery, and sailing ship making are all my favorite. The pursuit of accuracy and perfection in mathematics also has a special impact on my handcraft.
In the past 18 years, I have worked in well-known primary and secondary schools in the city. During this period, I also served as a member of teaching and research group and a young pioneer counselor, and guided many students to participate in provincial and municipal competitions and obtain excellent results. Later, I served as a Chinese teacher in IB school, guiding students in all subjects. In my career, I firmly believe that cultivating students' mathematical thinking and guiding them to think independently is significant for them to maintain their curiosity about the world and become lifelong learners. Therefore, I try my best to attract students' attention through different teaching activities, and use simple and effective methods to explain, so as to make the classroom more attractive.

Hello, I’m Denise, I am an experienced educator and interpreter holding a Bachelor’s degree in English Language Arts from Guangdong Ocean University. I possess a Teaching Certificate (G1-G12) in English and a CET-8 English Proficiency Certificate. I attended as well as facilitated various training on dual language programs, curriculum reviews, responsive classrooms, etc. in and out of the school, and have continued to develop my knowledge in international education. Currently, I am studying for a Master’s in Educational Leadership and Management.
I started my career in the international education field as an educator in early 2014 and continually gained knowledge and understanding of various international curricula over the past years while working as a homeroom teacher, then an administrator in Guangzhou, Shanghai, and Beijing. As a founding member of new international schools, I was involved in shaping and improvising the foundation of the academics and operational practice. I have played a key role in developing a dual literacy program as well as the social emotional learning program as an administrator. I was also a part of the steering leadership team towards school accreditation.

Hello I'm Mihajlo, or you can call me Mike. A European artist from Serbia, I graduated at the Academy of Fine Arts in Novi Sad, with a Master's Degree in Fine Arts.
During my career I've exhibited my art throughout Europe, America, Saudi Arabia and have had the pleasure and unique opportunity to exhibit my work in China. My work incorporates large abstract collage canvases inspired by my stay in China, as well as a series of unique concept art drawings.
My current project, “The Master of Unknown Space”, is based on my time and personal experiences while living in China. The artwork correlates with the primal forces of nature and the elements. The collage paintings are an invocation of the energies that correlate with the place of my current stay and the vision that comes with it. Through the use of color and action the artist tries to invite and entice the audience into the visual landscape; an unknown place waiting to be manifested, in order to involve them in the experience of different space. My new project involves an exploration of language and deconstruction inside the medium of Painting and Different materials. The Idea of deconstructing and constructing new visual language.

Hello everyone, I am Tiffany, graduated from South China Normal University, majoring in Fine Arts, Printmaking, I joined ISA Wenhua Liwan School as an art teacher in August this year. I have five years of experience in teaching art in international schools which includes the National Curriculum for Art, MYP and PYP for IB art subjects. I was the visual arts subject head and helped design the visual arts curriculum for the school. I have experience teaching students from Grade 1 to Grade 9 and I guided students to participate in art competitions and win awards.
As an art teacher, I believe that art is a good way for children to feeling life and express themselves, and work with children in the art classroom to practice artistic language expression and personal creativity. Hello, I'm Adam. After graduating, I have been working as an actor working ensemble and leading roles in both plays and musicals. In 2015, I first started teaching in China: Beijing, Fuqing and Foshan. Working as Musical Director, choreographer, drama facilitator and singing teacher. Musical Director for 3 original musicals created for Primary/Middle Schools associated with Beijing Normal University.
A key moment for me, as a teacher, was working with a child who was very shy and who had some language difficulties. From the first day of rehearsals I could see her passion for music and dance. Through the classes I watched her grow in confidence as she began comfortable to contribute to and lead group conversations; she clearly had a very bright and imaginative brain. Eventually I could see there was a lot of creativity dying to come out. Slowly, slowly she gained confidence and we were all aware of her improvements.
When it came to the performance, I was confident that her passion was more important than her abilities. She shone! A funny, engaging performance - full of confidence. Seeing her climb to be one of the best performances in the show, I was incredibly proud.
Through creative development I have seen improvement in social skills such as communication, confidence and teamwork as well intellectual development in problem solving and creativity.
Discussing character development students will understand important elements of social behaviour. The activities we cover in class are extremely student-centered. They are encouraged to research all areas of the theatre industry. They will be directed but also free to reach their own outcomes.
Creative education will build who they are, how they express themselves and how they work with others. Furthermore, everything they learn and improve upon actively contributes to their performance and development. Every student is welcome and will be seen as an individual; their personal journey with the performing arts will be directly influenced by who they are as a person.

Hello, I'm Gaga. I graduated from Zhongge School of Arts of Guangdong Ocean University,majoring in choreography. I am a member of the Chinese Children's Song and Dance Society, the China Children's Music Society, the Beijing Dance Association, and one of the first batch of professional Orff certified teachers and family education counselors in China.
I have been deeply involved in dance education for more than twelve years. I once served as the Art Director of a well-known International School in Beijing for ten years and have rich experience in leading a team to study and exchange abroad. I have participated in various international art festivals and art conferences, leading students to participate in competitions and won numerous awards. In 2016, I was awarded the title of “Outstanding Teacher” in Shunyi District, Beijing. In 2021, I served as the director of the Youth Palace of an International School in Changsha. My original dance work “Pinch a Big Winter Olympics Doll” won the first prize in the Beijing Primary and Secondary School Art Competition and the first prize of the original group dance of the primary school group of the group program of the 12th Student Art Festival. Hello everyone, I'm Sharon. I have been a founding music teacher in top K-12 international schools in Beijing and Shanghai since 2014. Before coming to China, I taught band, orchestra, and IGCSE music in the Philippines. I have category I and II certificates from MYP and IBDP and have taught DP Music programs for six years.
Before becoming a teacher, I taught flute at St. Paul and St. Scholastica University. I am a professional flutist who has performed with major orchestras at Carnegie Hall and Lincoln Center. Recently, I was chosen as one of the top conductors in the world to compete in an international competition. I graduated from the pre-college division of Juilliard School and Columbia University with a Master of Arts and Master of Education.
My philosophy in teaching music is to allow students to enjoy music by creating, performing, and sharing. Activities involving learning new instruments and singing are essential for the younger students. For the MYP students, students will be learning to express who they are and learn to communicate their ideas by learning music from a different culture. They will learn to share their thoughts through MYP group projects involving music technology. The program will help students to prepare for IBDP Music, CAS, and TOK in high school.

Hello, my name is Adheesh. I have worked in four countries including Japan, United Arab Emirates, South Africa and China, my educational background includes a Bachelor of Sport Science, a Post graduate Certificate of Education (PGCE) from the University of Kwa Zulu Natal and a teaching license from South African Council of Education.
Currently residing in China for over 4 years, I have over 14 years of teaching experience. It is my passion to promote health and fitness while providing a safe environment. It is my belief that learners should be given the opportunity to grow mentally and physically, and P.E is in the unique position to provide this holistic development. Providing the appropriate platform is fundamental in a PE lesson. Having many years of teaching experience in different countries, involvement with various cultures, institutions and students, these experiences has made me flexible and adaptable as an educator.
My favorite sports include cricket and weightlifting. In my spare time I enjoy spending time at the ocean, fishing, surfing or just enjoying the sunset. Spending time in nature is the best method for relaxation.

大家好,我是Enda,任小学和中学体育教师,我毕业于广州体育学院体育教育专业,专项是游泳和网球。从事体育教育近10年,曾在中国、迪拜、澳大利亚组织过各项体育培训,精通橄榄球、旱地冰球、盖尔式足球、极限飞盘等多项运动。我曾代表中国澳式橄榄球国家队闯进2017年国际杯前三名。
我的课堂注重培养基础体能,发展运动兴趣,我希望每个孩子都能在我的体育课中释放天性,也相信体育对孩子的塑造是全方位的。2018-2020年,我曾带领自己班的40个学生,连续三年,每天清晨进行体能训练,从开始的排斥拒绝到积极主动,三年过去,孩子们逐渐变得强壮和自信,学习成绩也显著提高,更重要的是他们更加团结和有责任心了,这让更加我坚信体育教育的重要。

Hello I am Enda, PYP and MYP PSPE teacher, I graduated from Guangzhou Sports University, majoring in swimming and tennis. I have been engaged in sports education for nearly 10 years, and organized various sports training in China, Dubai and Australia. I'm proficient in many sports such as rugby, floor ball, Gaelic football and ultimate Frisbee. I played for the Chinese Australian Rules national team in the top three of the 2017 International Cup.
In 2018-2020, I led my class of 40 students, for three consecutive years, every morning for physical training, from the beginning to the exclusion of refuse to proactive, in the past three years, children gradually become strong and confident, also significantly improve grades, more important is that they are more unity and a sense of responsibility, the more I believe that the importance of physical education.
Sport is the common language of society and one of the best tools to integrate into international multicultural culture.
